Just another quick chirp from me... Now that I think about it... How are they gonna afford him for that much anyways?

Well W&G has said several times that Sheed really wants to play for the Cavs next season. This just goes to further support that. But there is no way in hell he should be offered anything more than the vet's minimum. There are too many other younger pieces available for us to use the MLE on than Sheed. If he truly is going to retire unless he gets that much, than so be it, but if he wants to sign on for us on the cheap for one last championship run, then welcome aboard Sheed.... you dirty POS.

It can't be $10 million/year. It is probably 2 years/$10 million at $5 million/year.

I would do it. Sheed is a PF that the other team must guard and if need be he can guard Dwight Howard pretty good.

That's what I was thinking too cause I'm like "How are they going to pay him that much and we're in luxury tax?"

HOw are you guys going to afford 8 million PER YEAR for rasheed. Thats what he is wanting. I'm a kings fan but I was pulling for you guys to win the championship. But obvioulsy that didnt happen. But sorry to say you guys dont have much wiggle room to improve the roster. If and when Lebron re-signs then you guys should have something near another max deal available that year. But for this upcoming season I dont see much of an improvment.

ANd damn I'm pissed z/wallace/ all your big guys got dominated like that. I wish the cavs were whooping the lakers azzz.

Rasheed is a very short term solution but you need to add 2 bigs so you better go get Charlie Villanueva when free agency starts. He's a restricted FA so the Bucks could match but they have a huge payroll and don't/can't pay the luxury tax.

Sheed is washed up and he doesn't care about basketball. Don't bring him in here!

Hmm.

This move could go either way for you guys if theres any truth to it.

On one hand, he could become motivated by playing on a rising team and perform well and bolster your front line.

On the other hand, he could have a negative experience with a coach early on or have some other early source of friction that could render him flaccid and unmotivated during his entire time with you guys.

He could also never get motivated.

Tough to tell.

Actually it's a pretty good move if they get him and re-sign Varejao. I would go right after Shaq after this and then attempt to get a SF/PF tweener for Ilgauskas. Perhaps James Posey+Morris Peterson for Ilgauskas. That would entirely change the entire roster right there. Just needs a true C backup and it's set. Perhaps Varejao returning would be just what the team needs. Locked, loaded and defensively dynamic.

PG- Williams, Gibson
SG- West, MoPete
SF- James, Posey
PF- Wallace, Joe Smith, Hickson
C- Shaq (Wallace+Pavlovic), Varejao

I think it's been emphasized enough from Cavs fans that we aren't trading Big Z, regardless of how poorly he performed in the Orlando series and how old he is.

I'm so sorry I should have known, I read Cleveland boards like the plague and I missed that (sarcasm).

All because you trade him does not mean he won't come back. New Orleans has no use for him. Ship a few million with him and you'll get your guy back. If you want to prevent LeBron from having the best team possible for what could be his last shot with Cleveland then go for it. I don't care if Ilgauskas can play or he can't play, his contract is clearly useful and in order to have the defensive ability the team needs to succeed you need guys like Posey and depth SGs to replace Pavlovic if you trade him. If you want him to retire a Cav then that's great, he should and will.

That team listed would bitch slap Orlando. Cleveland has Shaq and they win the last series no doubt about it. Howard fouls out of every game, plus 4 at least in points and close to even in defense.

It can throw out so many different lineups it's ridiculous.

Super-large to combat L.A. at times

PG- Williams/West
SG- Posey
SF- James
PF- Wallace
C- Shaq

Verus Boston

PG- Williams
SG- West
SF- James
PF- Wallace
C- Shaq

Versus Orlando

PG- Williams
SG- West
SF- Posey
PF- James
C- Wallace

Return to Cleveland Cavaliers
