Offseason Possibilities

trade giddens, draft rights of erdin, and 58th pick to sacramento for donte green

trade tony allen, gabe pruitt, and bill walker to toronto for kris humphries and nathon jawai

that would leave us with a roster that looks like

PG: Rondo
SG: Allen, House
SF: Pierce, Green
PF: KG, Baby, Humphries, Scal
C: Perk, Jawai

we would need to add a point, two backup wings, and another post

to add a backup point i would a. resign stephon b. buy into the second round and select AJ Price, Patty Mills, or Tony Douglas c. sign bobby jackson for vets min or d. spend part of the MLE on ronnie price, ramon sessions, or jarret jack

to fill the two wing spots i would sign a the most effective combination of any of these two players that we could afford: Barnes, Parker, Wafer, Daniels, McCants, Rush, Almonds or substitute one of those players for potentially buying into the second round for Dionte Christmas or Danny Green

i think the most effective (realistically speaking) combinations would be: Parker/Christmas, Barnes/Green, Rush/Daniels, Barnes/Mccants, Barnes/Wafer where you get more of a shooting guard to go along with barnes, and more of a small forward defensive guy to go along with parker

finally i would either resign powe for a cheap injury/hometown discount, or look to buy into the second round to take suton out of mich st, heytfelt from gonzaga, of Carrol from Mizzou

that would ideally leave the celtics roster looking something like this next fall:

PG: Rondo, AJ Price
SG: Allen, House, Danny Green
SF: Pierce, Barnes, Donte Green
PF: KG, Baby, Humphries, Scal
C: Perk, Jawai, Suton

or

PG: Rondo, Steph
SG: Allen, Parker, House
SF: Pierce, Green, Christmas
PF: KG, Baby, Powe, Scal
C: Perk, Humphries, Jawai

Green is years away from contributing, waste of a spot right now.

That's the worst trade I've ever seen. The guys were getting back suck.

Do you really want a rookie backing up Rondo?

yeah, those trades dont accomplish much that I can see.

Humphries isnt a bad backup until Powe returns but you can probably get him for Allen.

Green is 6'11 can play some defense and shoot the three he is closer to contributing than the young guys on our bench

And how does Tony Allen, gabe pruitt, and bill walker for kris humphries and nathon jawai not work out for us? You do realize that the guys we would be giving up suck too

and what would be so bad about a rookie backing up rondo? the position of backup point guard for the celitcs has significantly dropped for the celtics since the rapid improvement of rondo

we can win with an unproven backup at point, we did fine the first half of this year with eddie house and gabe pruitt backing rondo, it would be fine with a rookie backing rajon

i see jawai as having good upside and under the watchful eye of cliffard ray can evolve into the same type of player perkins is

and the trades arent all about getting back players to help us but also about clearing roster spots for players who are better suited to help us
