Post#1 » by cmaff051 » Fri Jun 12, 2009 3:13 am

Friday: Joba vs. Livan Hernandez 7:00 PM EST
Saturday: Pettitte vs. TBA 4:00 PM EST
Sunday: Burnett vs. Santana 1:00 PM EST

Let's win two out of three and get back on track. These games are always fun, I'm really looking forward to them.

Can't wait. Hopefully Burnett bounces back from his last outing against the Red Sox.

Let me ask you something. We can agree that Joba's big problem that inning was a clinic in piss poor command, correct? So in a hypothetical move back to the bullpen, what will happen to him? Will he go back to the magical command and unsustainable BABIP of that small sample size in 2007? Or will he be Kyle Farnsworth?

Wonder if the bullpen can go the distance.

**** pitching lately is horrible. AJ looks like **** Wang cant go an inning without giving up a run (GET HUGHES BACK IN THERE) Joba and Andy is either on or off.

C.C is the only reliable pitcher we have.

If Wang gets pounded his next start and is still kept on the rotation my head will explode.

Obviously he wont magically get back to form right away he would have to adjust.

I can understand he's still young and developing but i would rather have a dominant Set-Up/Closer Pitcher then a Average--Good Starter.

If he's going to stay a starter i just hope he becomes that ace were all hoping for.

Man i cant wait for Bruney comes back we need that bridge for mo

What i'm saying is that Joba's biggest problem all season long has been command issues (hence his high walk count). That's not something that you can assume will improve just because he's back in the bullpen. I'm not trying to call you out in particular or anything, but the majority of the Joba to the pen crowd seems to simply be mesmerized by his 07 pen run without fully taking into account what his current problems are. In spite of his control problems, he's still flashing an impressive strikeout rate and a more than workable ERA. And he's still performing better than most of the other Yankee starters. So what does it really accomplish to put him back in the bullpen besides improving it marginally at a serious cost to the rotation, to Joba's future value to the team, and potentially to Joba's health?

You got it. He looked so damn dominant out of the BP then once they put him into the rotation he went from Dominant RP to Average Starter.

Yeah i know its apart of the process but it was so damn awesome to have such a force to give the game over to mo.

And as im typing this the Failpen has activated thanks to Joba throwing 100+ pitches in 4 innings. Joba needs to work on his command.

Do the Yanks have any decent LR pitchers to bring up from the Minor League?
