OT: Sheffields resurgence

Post#1 » by SportsFan7 » Thu Jun 18, 2009 11:57 am

im really surprised at what sheffields been able to do. i knew if sheffield got a chance to play every day he would help this team a lot but i never thought he would be as good as he has been, he is now tied with beltran for the club lead with 8 homeruns, i never followed sheff too much except when he played with the yankees i got to see him a couple of times and was impressed. hopefully he stays healthy and can be our regular left or right fielder all through next season as well, the guy is still good.

Mets still need a power bat in that lineup (Adam Dunn) and they need to get bak all their DL squad. With Reyes, Delgado, Perez, Maine, Putz, Wagner back they will be tuff to beat... jus need to hold their ground rite now.

why is this thread not locked YET? every Yankee thread ever made these days get locked in minutes. Next thing you know, it is either taken away totally or some mod is "kind" enough to post a link to the realgm:mlb and then it is locked but it is locked nevertheless. yet a post about the METS...is okay?

Hmm... Buh-bye, Sheff?

Sheffield Feuding With Mets
20th August, 2009 - 7:45 pm
New York Post - Gary Sheffield asked the Mets for a contract extension, the club rejected the overture and now Sheffield has threatened to leave the team and head home, two sources told the Post.

As of 6:30 p.m., one of the sources said, Mets officials and Sheffield were in discussions on how to move forward. Mets pitcher Tim Redding actually said he heard Sheffield had been released. But a Mets official told the Post that was inaccurate and that Sheffield had not been released.

This thread should be retitled Sheffield's selfish clueless resurgence. The guy's over 40 does he really think he can get a contract extension from anyone?
Trust but verify.
