Viktor Sanikidze

Post#1 » by bishopospurs » Sat Jun 20, 2009 6:16 pm

We got the rights to this guy in 2004, he is only 23 according to his wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viktor_Sanikidze

Does anybody know if he is worth bringing over. He is a 6-8 SF/PF. He is young looks pretty skinny though. We discuss Splitter alot, but I have never heard of this guy. I am just curious if anyone has insight into his skill level. He seems pretty athletic though.

Spurs seemed really high on him in 2004 when we drafted him, Udrih and Romain Sato, i believe. They said they thought he was going to be their best pick from that draft. Don't really know where he has gone from their. He should be a Summer League show for us.

Unfortunately Sanikidze has been riddled with injuries and has shown no ability to put on any muscle mass. He was a strong performer in his brief summer league stint a few years ago. At this point I think it's safe to say that he is not within the Spurs plans anymore.

Sounds like he'll get a chance with us this summer, but I really don't know anything about him.
