Stop Sund before he picks again, please!
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

The best drafters seem to be the young GM's like Pritchard and Presti.
I also want to say even though it wouldn't be a horrible pick..I just pray that Sund shows some self control if Mullens happens to be there at 19. That would show me alot. Sekou said that there have been some pretty obvious hints in his columns as to who the Hawks are leaning too. The "lets say Zaza doesn't re-sign and Horford gets hurt, I'd be wishing we drafted a center" quote along with the "i dont expect a rookie to make the 8 man rotation of a 47 win team"(it might be a reach but it sounds like he wants a project)makes me think that the guy Sekou is talking about almost has to be Mullens.

I highly doubt they did if he still worked out for teams like ATL and Chicago.

this is one of the reasons why i am hesitant to draft Mullens........ might just be history repeating itself all over again.

Sund's last 3 1st rounders have been project 7 foot centers. None of them have really worked out although Petro isn't bad value for a late 1st rounder. Swift and Sene were lottery pick busts who had major knee injuries...although Sene was still a dumb pick that would have been a huge bust regardless imo.

IMO, if Hansbrough is there at 19, the Hawks won't pass him up. Now, Mullens is all about potential.
He will be at best our Andrew Bynum who will take 3-4 years to develop.
Do we wait for that to 'potentially' happen?
I say we go with someone who can contribute sooner than that. The UNC trio would be the best options as they are mature enough to contribute sooner than later.
No matter who we pick, Woody is going to play mind games with that player. Hansbrough is probably most 'Woody-ready'. This is how we have to approach this draft.........who is 'Woody-ready'?

In a guard rich draft, don't you draft a guard and maximize the value? Big men are inherently a bigger risk. We still need a point guard right? Maximize the value here and pick a guard... Horford and Zaza are fine for now.
VOTE Rod Strickland into the H.O.F.!!!

So Sund is the anti-Billy Knight and everyone is STILL upset? Instead of picking 6'9" guys (who play the 2, 3 and 4), we have a GM of whom the linked article said, "Its as if Sund has a giant blind spot for post players, and point guards..."
I honestly think some people believe that if they criticize sports, they somehow demonstrate their own intelligence. Any fool can call a management official an idiot ... we prove that almost every day here.

My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.
