Sean May

is he worth taking a gamble on? I am pretty sure we could get pretty cheap. and he may not block alot of shots, but I believe he could rebound at a High rate as well as score affectively in the paint.
what do you guys think?

No. He's not worth taking a look at. 4 years in Charlotte to play a total of 82 games (that's average almost 62 games out a year). In those few games he played he didn't put up particularly impressive rebounding numbers per minute either. I went per minute to be more fair to him, since his PT has never be great enough for good per game numbers. I'd have to say there are better prospects to offer the NBA minimum to. At this point if we had him, I would expect far more production from Othello Hunter than Sean May.

I must confess that while I do hate UNC, I would never let that get in the way of what is best for the Hawks. And I was a big fan of Sean's dad Scott when he played for Indiana in the mid 70s. If I thought he could steal for us I would say so.

And what about Othello? I'm a fan of his and was wondering about his future with Atlanta, if there is even a future? I know he's not a priority as one of the last guys on the roster. But imo he's worth attempting to develop. Do you see him on the roster next season, or parting was with the Hawks?

he'll prob be given the practice guy treatment. he'll stay on the roster until it doesn't make sense to pay him the minimum. (they find somebody better who will play for the minimum).

I understand that Charlotte needs help up front, but Kwame Brown and Sean may. I never realized it was this bad.

I expect Othello to be resigned and his role to expand this year. As a rookie he practiced and rode the pine last year. His teammates spoke highly of how he played in practice. I think he could be active for most games and average about 8-10 minutes a game. Of course, I've nothing to base this on but my own gut. We'll see what the roster looks like at the end of summer and reappraise the situation then.
