My ideal REBUILDING lineup, Portland wants Nash or Kidd to put them over the top, Amare to ATL for Josh Smith, Mo Evans/Flip Murray. Trading J-Rich to save $, trade Ben Wallace and a 2nd round pick or Taylor Griffin for Tyson Chandler:


PG: Steve Blake, Jerryd Bayless, Goran Dragic (possibly in POR/ATL deal)

SG: Mo Evans, Leandro Barbosa, Alando Tucker (possibly in POR/ATL deal)

SF: Travis Outlaw, Jerryd Dudley

PF: Josh Smith, Earl Clark, Louis Amundson

C: Tyson Chandler, Robin Lopez + T. Griffin possibly in 'trade deal'



That lineup won't make the playoffs but they're young, cheap and will only get better. Blake as a starter for a year or two until Bayless takes over. Outlaw is long, can score and guard multiple positions. Josh Smith could break-out in our system and you know what you get with Chandler. Already that would be a great Defensive front-court and better defensive team all together and the bench w/ Bayless, LB, Dudley, Clark, Amoundson and Lopez is solid. Plus by having a lower payroll could make us a player for a 2010 free-agent. Let L.A. S.A. and Portland battle it out for a few years and then take over hopefully... Whatcha think and what's your ideal re-building lineup??

Move JRich to MIA for MBlount (buyout) and James Jones

After much thought, I don't think we should rebuild this year. We don't have our first round pick next year. I think I just got caught up in wanting a change on this team.

agreed again. i honestly think our best bet is resigning Amare to an extension, getting chandler and just going for it. it doesnt hurt since we dont have a pick.

re-sighn Amare, do Chandler for Wallace, throw M.L.E, or some of savings at Lamar Odom (big athletic frontcourt, would be hard to deal with for other teams, especially with nash setting them up), J. Rich to Chi-town for Hienrich, (good starter 2 guard, fundamentally sound in ofense, and defense, cant leave him open hell stick it, not flashy ala raja, and if dragic is still not ready, can slide to the one and run the show when Nash goes out and barbosa comes in, good B-ball I.Q.). keep Nash ofcourse, will be his old self with old style running and picking the defense apart with 3 mobile big men moving, instead of Shaq just running to the block and squatting.( our ofense is A MOTION OFENSE, not give it to the big guy and see what happens). I dont care what you guys say, Robin Lopez with his size and athletisisim, and his mean streak ( i saw enough in streaches ) can be a good backup center this year, cant believe you guys were so hard on a Rookie, who had an idiot for a coach for half a year. Briefly under Gentry (learning a whole new system on the fly, A ROOKIE) he looked better, and will continue. Crazy to give up a 7 footer with good feet, high motor, and drive to get better. Resighn Stro, see what Grant wants to do ( grant could be first guy off the bench when Chandler goes to bench, Amare slides to 5, Odom slides to 4, run, run, run, or Dudly, or Da. Kid Clark might be that good he is 6"10 also, still tall front line.

i REALLY dont understand why we are still so dead set on other things rather than going after Tyson. he fits a need perfectly. and like Fo-Real mentioned the line up i would even keep J RIch with that line up (i wouldnt mind Kirk so either or) go after tyson. throw a MLE and get a odom or ariza if he is still around as a FA and done. Nash will have a feild day with that line up

I'm with you here too. I think people are beginning to get over the novelty of getting new players and realizing we have the right pieces already.

We just need to add a mobile defensive center(Chandler) and trade Richardson for Hinrich. Adding a defensive sg would be a plus, he can also move over to point when Nash is on the bench. Use the MLE to sign someone like Odom and we're back to contenders.

I really think a healthy Chandler, Amare, Odom, ???(dont know exactly who, but the Hienrich trade would save us even more money, and he is a better fit), and Nash, would be hard to f@#k with. Screw a complete rebuild (dont trust F.O. to do from scratch) stay competitive now. YOU...PLAY...TO...WIN...THE...GAME.

I so want a J-Rich for Camby trade. It works straight-up today or tomorrow, and LA would only have to throw in one small contract after July 1st. Camby's a lower-risk, lower-reward version of Chandler at this point, and he expires after this year, freeing up even more cap room for next year. J-Rich was not a good player last year, and I'm really put off by his DUIs. This is not a guy I want to root for. I don't hate him or anything, I just don't want him on my team. Especially since he's costing Barbosa minutes.

With thier money situation, the Lakers cant keep both. If thier smart they will go with the younger guy. Odom wasnt happy when he was demoted to bench last year, with the idea of being a starter again maby hell bolt. How much do you think he is worth, i think whith the money saved in the Shaq deal, and more in a possible j. rich deal, we could afford to throw money at him. (please dont spend money on Barnes) Odom knows he wont make what he did last year, and for a possibly winning team sarver said he'd spend.

I guess everyone agrees with you ginobiliflops. This is basically what I have been saying the whole time is that we need to plug in the right pieces to make this work. Camby or Chandler is that guy. Both are injury prone, and both have pros and cons to them. Camby is old and expiring. Chandler is younger, but contract goes 2 more years.

I would love Hinrich here as a starting PG. But that is not going to happen. I do not like him as the starting two because he is too small too me. But rumor has it that Portland is looking to trade for him and I can see them wanting him more than Nash, and that Portland has more to offer than we do in JRich.

Boy, it is easy to get all caught up in fantasy GM. To me, it seems that many fans just want change, and don’t care about what we get to a point. Many continue to devalue Amare as a player and think all of a sudden he is worthless. I think we have to sign a vet PG and see if we can land someone for the MLE if we can resign Amare and make a deal for Chandler. I think the suns should offer Amare 4 years 80 mil, but last year team option.

Its hard to believe that our FO is competent enough to make the right moves, but the thing is, many teams do not have money (including us) and many teams are saving up for next years FA and some teams do not want to spend due to the economy. That = great value players for cheap. That is what the suns have to be active in is getting great value to feel some needed areas.
