Camp deal

It's a one-year deal -- I'm sure it's not guaranteed from the get-go, but still... a little more than just a camp deal.

Feel good story. Glad to see him make some $$$. Hope he sticks.

I don't know exact details of the deal - very likely it's guaranteed for 100k or something, but still that's a lot of money at the end of the day. It's easy to cheer for these undrafted dudes who work hard to stay in the league.

Crazy Gil, probably slipped her some cash
The restraining order against Gilbert Arenas -- issued after his ex-GF accused Gil of threatening to send explicit videos to her son -- has been thrown out 'cause Gil and the woman missed court today.

Here's the deal ... the woman claimed she dated Gil on and off since 2016 -- and said he took their breakup hard.
The accusations were nasty ... with the woman claiming Arenas was "waiting to get my son's cell phone number from his son so that he could send my child naked photos of me and video of Gilbert and I having sex and video of me naked."

Last month, a judge granted a temporary restraining order to the woman ... which ordered Gil to "not communicate in person, by telephone, or text with [victim's] son. He shall not send [her son] photographs or videos."
He was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from his ex and her son.

Happened a month ago but I just now rewatched this.

The announcer said "Blatche should be arrested for throwing such a soft punch".

A few days ago Thon Maker received a long suspension.

From the article:
Arenas continues by saying he rooted for his teammates to struggle when he was on the bench because he knew that meant he would enter the game sooner. He even says he would call out teammates to try and get his coach to sub him in sooner.

“I was literally making sure the coach knew his flaws, like, ‘C’mon, dude, get back on defense.’ Like, ‘Damn, man, he keeps getting beat.’ Like, ‘Tighten up, he keeps going left on you.’”

I'm not sure how much it was relevant during Arenas' peak years here. Arenas played 40 minutes a game. It's not like he would have been agitating to get more playing time.

It may have explained why Arenas had such a terrible post-injury career. Yeah, his knee was shot, but he was still a deadeye shooter yet couldn't stick with any team. Orlando and Memphis dumped him as soon as they acquired him. I guess nobody wanted to put up with his BS.

Is Swaggy P to blame?

Sorry closg00, I can't let that link remain on this board.

I watched Gilbert's Big 3 debut last night. His team included Craig Smith (and Royce White, and Lamar Odom who didn't play). $5 Stevenson played for the other team.

Gilbert came out firing and hit his first two shots, then immediately started looking like the rusty, injury-limited ex-playet that he is. Without his burst (and carrying what appeared to be a little extra muscle and bulk[1]), he resorted to posting up smaller guards for mid-range fadeaways.

If you squinted and caught him at the right time, it was a nice trip down memory lane.

Stevenson has not worked on his jumper during his retirement.

[1] Big 3's adidas unis have wider shoulder panels and run baggier than modern NBA unis do these days, so I could be wrong.

It's fun in short spurts. I won't bother picking a favorite team, but it's a decent nostalgia-based diversion during the dog days of summer.

OTOH, it felt like I saw an injury like every other game. Lots of popped Achilles -- which is triggering for me, seeing as I've torn both myself.

It would be great if a Clippers reunion works out for Shaun Livingston.

I loved watching this, thank you !

Yeah, I've often thought this team, if they didn't lose Hughes, would of accomplished more. If they made the Kwame for Caron trade, and kept Hughes...

starting 5 of Haywood, Jamison, Butler, Hughes, Arenas with guys like Etan, Antonio Daniels, Songaila, Jeffries off the bench...

Plus watching that there seems to be major animosity between Haywood and Eddie Jordan. I wonder what that is all about?

How bout a Big 3 Team with Arenas-Hughes-Jamison with Caron as the 4th guy?
