Pacers Beat Oklahoma City, Lose McRoberts BY Indy Cornrows

Josh McRoberts came out playing like a man possessed in the first quarter of the Indiana Pacers' 91-88 win over the Oklahoma City Thuner in Orlando. He had dunks in traffic, a flush alone on the break and made his way to the line all as the game was just getting underway.

Unfortunately, after nearly jumping through the roof to block a shot at the defensive end, McRoberts tweaked an ankle when he came back to Earth. Well, let's hope it was merely a tweak. After limping off the court, Mac left the gym and returned near the end of the game on crutches. Hopefully the crutches were precautionary and the injury easily rehabable. Regardless of the severity, Mac's week appears over which stinks because I was enjoying watching him play and was wondering if he could keep up his level of play.

Does this effect us resigning McRoberts? The kid is going to be good for us. Not starter good, but as I have said before all great teams have good depth. I hope he is okay.

No, I don't think it will effect it, depending on how badly he's hurt. I don't think Bird would give up on him just because he was injured in the summer.

If Larry doesn't re-sign McBob because he injured his ankle, that would be a very classless move. Let's face it, Larry is NOT a classless type of guy. The injury won't effect us re-signing him at all I believe.

The circumstances of the injury alone are enough to make a GM want this kid. He was injured blocking a shot. With awkward landings, I expect a sprain, and he'll be good to go in no time. I don't expect this to carry over into next season, and even if it did, we'd still like to re-sign him.

Bummer, we won't see him in summer league anymore. Shouldn't really have an impact on his re-signing.

I agree with Miller4ever, it might actually help McBob get the contract because he hurt himself playing almost to hard. I hope he's back, he looks really focused on getting better, and that's something I like to see.

Maybe Psycho T got into McRoberts system to?

I think the only thing it'll affect is him getting a contract any bigger then the one year tender the Pacers put on him. It's also a Bird rights contract I think, so the Pacers can sign him to a larger deal next summer if he proves his worth.
