Was on Alaskan cruise last week, did anyone see anyone useful in Summer league?

Dude, you missed THE basketball event of the year for some stupid cruise along one of the the earth's most beautiful natural landscapes?

Good move.

The biggest Celtics news out of summer league was probably that our 2nd round pick, Lester Hudson, broke a finger. Other than that, the bigs-- Swift, Fazekas, and Sweeney-- were either too fat, too slow, or too out of shape, the incumbents--- Giddens and Walker-- were both nursing minor injuries and suffered from cases of poor shot selection and indifferent defense, and the long shots---- Lofton, Rogers, and Karl--- all showed some signs of life but also had enough flaws and/or physical limitations to keep them in the long shot category.

The jerky boy announcers completely ignored the on-court action for the most part, and instead subjected us to a sometimes funny, mostly interminable self-deprecating comedy routine. Plus, the only view of the court was a single wide-angle lens from somewhere up in the nosebleeds.

In other words, I'd rather have been moose watching.

Our players played with little motivation knowing that they won't make it in NBA.

Sweetney's short court time was somewhat comparable to your whale watching. Other than that, you win.

I thought Pruitt plyed well enough to get his option picked up, Hudson didn't get a chance to play enough to get a contract, Giddens and Walker played well enouh to get some time early on in the season.

The rest didn't matter. Swift might get some advice from our coching staff. You can't coach height, but he was remarkbly out of shape. Maybe next year, but I doubt it.
