Sign a quality vet big. Joe Smith, Drew Gooden, Chris Wilcox, etc.

Beyond that, we're pretty much set since it seems like Kleiza will be back next year for the QO. That'd give us 14 players on the roster.

Hunter is the captain of IR.

If Sharpe remains on the roster he could probably be sent down to the D-League. Weems will probably too, off and on like last year.

If Hunter is healthy, he doesn't belong in IR. I think Weems needs another season in the DL. He seems to be getting better, and becoming more of a well rounded player every time I seem him.

As for what we do next, I think it's obvious that we all want another quality big, but I think we will end up signing another project in the summer league team. I just don't want Petro back. Just pray for another healthy season.

By the way, why not give Elton Brown a shot?

drew gooden is a possibility. the front office likes him (well Wark does). Depends on what it costs to get him though really.

yeah i'd like to keep LK for the QO.

if some1 takes him, then target Barnes.

I'd love to have either Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox, Drew Gooden, or Leon Powe for the minimum... but i doubt we'll be their first option. IF we can't get them, then send part of the TE for Amir Johnson.

Then the final move should be to look for a lotto team to take Steven Hunter + our lotto protected 1st for a TE + their earliest 2nd.

The New Jersey Nets comes to mind... They have a TE which would be capable of that.

The last thing we need is another undersized big with bad knees, let someone else pay Powe to sit in rehab until feb.

If I had my preference we would either bring back Kleiza to be the combo forward and then sign Wilcox or Gooden as they are both decent rebounders that could come off the bench.

Or we could sign Joe Smith and a young big form our summer league team which would allow us to play Balkman more.

Leon Powe = NO!
But I'm still deciding on whether or not I would like Kleiza back, He's got potential, but he was so inconsistent last year it was frustrating. If we could get some good value for him, maybe a solid big man, I think we should take it.
I really do love Balkman though, reminds me of Najera. I hope he gets some more playing time this next season.
Gooden would be a good pickup for us, I do love his playing style.

i think the nugs should resign kleiza then go after wilcox. i think he would fit well in our fast pace offense. not to mention we can get him cheap

Kleiza has more estrogen in his pussy ass than Jay Cutler.

Ok well that may be exaggerating things a bit, but regardless, the dude is so mentally weak all any team has to do is start up a trade rumor and his play will be **** for three weeks minimum.

I'd like to see LK S&T + Hunter for Foster, who would grab some boards, and play pretty good POST defense for us. Also offers insurance as I doubt Nene and KMart will stay healthy like they did.

then cut one of Weems or Sharpe (or don't sign Coby... but it'd be nice to have a combo guard as the 9th man).

C - Nene (10.5) / Foster (6.1)
PF - KMart (15.4) / Birdman (3.7) / Dice** (3)
SF - Melo (15.8) / Balkman (2) / Sharpe (0.74)
SG - Affalo (1.1) / JR (5.5)
PG - Billups (12.1) / Lawson (1.2) / Coby (0.74)
Payroll: 78 mil

I put JR on the bench, because scoring off the bench is needed.

That'd be cool with me. But why cut Weems? You have to have 13 guys under contract, and by cutting him you only have 12, and you still have to pay him(and then another guy to fill out the roster).

Might as well sign Wilcox, if for no other reason, than to avoid him torching us a minimum of two times this season. For whatever reason, that dude comes to play against Denver.

I thought Weems wasn't guaranteed? I dunno cut the dude without the guaranteed contract, or just forget about Coby and hope for no injuries on our PGs.

Nene/ Andersen
K-Mart/ Sharp
Melo/ Balkman
Smith/ Afflalo
Billups/ Lawson
Hunter (possible career ending injury)

Kleiza (RFA)
Carter, Petro (FA)

With Kleiza we'd have 12 players under contract... but only 11 that could play... ten if you are actually serious and don't count Sharp. Unless weems shows us something you can bring that down to 9. so

I could see the nuggets making 3 cheap signings. A big, a wing, and a 3rd string PG. We'll see.

I hope nobobdy offers Kleiza anything coz I doubt we match it. I'd like to keep him for the QO and then sign a big for the rest of the mid level, Wilcox being the ideal.
Then maybe bring in an insurance big from the summer league for the minimum coz one of our bigs will most likely get injured (curse).
