Your opinion about Pavlovic
I've read that Phoenix might buy Pavlovic out. I figure you guys know his game best. I know he's not starter quality, but would he be a decent backup SF that could provide a decent 10 to 15 minutes a game (particularly if a team can pick him up on the cheap)?
How's his defense? Can he defend?
Or is he just totally soft and guaranteed to disappoint?
Thanks in advance.

The thing with him is consitancy.... If his confidence is on.... You have a gem... If it's off like most nights... You can expect him to ride pine for long stretches at a time... He's under the same boat as Gooden as far as making mental mistakes... He's an ok defender seeing as that he's been guarding LeBron in practice ever since Coach Brown was here. He makes stupid offensive fouls driving to the hoop and his jumper is streaky. Again all of that is due to confidence. I had all the hope for Sasha to be a great player in this league but that is not the case

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
I have actually been doing a lot of thinking about this in regards to Sacha. While many on the board may flame me for this, I really think Sacha should have started here. The guy is not mentally equipped to coming off the bench. When he was a starter, even in the few games this year, he showed his best form. I thought he should start because you would maximize his potential and still have West come off the bench to provide some scoring boost. Much like the SA situation where Finley starts and Manu finishes
I think he has underrated athletic ability. Has good hops and actually plays pretty good on ball man defense. He shoots the ball pretty well and has some ability to create his own shot.
I think if he ends up on a team where he can compete for a starting role he will be a decent player.
You cannot blame the Cavs though......Delonte is solid as a rock.

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
The thing about Sasha is he has to know he will get guaranteed minutes or he will lose his confidence. I thought he did a good job filling in when Delonte got injured but as soon as Delonte came back Pavs was back to getting inconsistent minutes and DNPCD. He will sometimes try to do too much offensively and commit stupid charging fouls but when his confidence is on he is a very good shooter and surprisingly athletic. He was one of the Cavs that actually moved without the ball. Defensively he is not bad but will use his hands too much and get called for a bunch of ticky tack fouls. I would be interested to see how Pavs plays under a different coach and a new system. If Shannon Brown can play well for the Lakers I think Pavs can also do well with a fresh start.

Good defender when he wants to be. Good shooter when he wants to be. Can get to the rim, but can't finish unless he wants to.
Doesn't put in extra work unless his dad, Dusan, is in town.
Last great memory I have of him is shutting VC down in 2007.
But he doesn't have the mental capacity to be a useful NBA player.

Pretty much what's been said, Mental capacity and confidence. He has some athletic ability, but him being consistent with that ability has not happened.

I think Linas Kleiza is the Pavlovic who actually reached his potential. One OK year is not enough to show anything. Unfortunately, Boobie and Pavlovic both look like one year wonders.

Pavs is a decent shooter and slasher. He is predictable on offense which makes him fairly turnover prone. Defense is pretty good.
He is a solid role player but as has been said, his performance dips up and down with his confidence.
I think he would do well in the right situation, maybe somewhere like GS where he can freelance. If Phx gives him minutes and a starter role I could see him doing well.

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
I like Sasha.
Has all the potential in the world and with a coach that wont yank him at the first sign of danger he could be a tremendous asset. When he is locked in mentally he is a well above average defender, shooter, and slasher. While he has always been able to get to the basket on drives he has had a lot of problem finishing for whatever reason. A pure confidance player with surprising athletic ability.

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
I would take him over Barnes too, bargain price of course.
Playing alongside Lebron probably has an impact on everyplayer to some degree, in positive and negative ways. There could be more to Pav than weve seen, but worst case scenario he will give you what he gave the cavs.

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
I think if he is in Memphis or Charlotte, he will do great. Just because he will get a lot of quality minutes and he would be versatile enough to play small or big and guard the other guys wing. These two teams need help at the wings but playing with Lebron over the years I think has been great for Pavs. Playing under Brown wasn't. This was the year he was supposed to get back but his minutes dropped signicantly because Brown prefered Wally over him. I think just like Bron said in the beginning of the playoffs that Pavs should have been getting more minutes, he was right. If he did we could have easily had him guarding Turk but if your coach doesnt believe in you, how are you supposed to.
I think Larry Brown could get a lot out of him and would improve their 3pt % plus he is a bigger guard which they lack.

Re: Your opinion about Pavlovic
For some reason, LeBron was a big fan of Sasha. I don't know if it is because they went against each other in practice for the past few years or what, but I think he could be a quality player in the right place. I'd like to throw Sasha in the 7 second offense and see what he can do. I would say his mental consistency is his biggest issue, and his next would be his ball handling. Sasha has a good first step to the basket, but cannot dribble under pressure.
Well at least we're not Detroit!
