Iverson vs. small forward

Post#1 » by GreenGrizz » Fri Jul 17, 2009 9:41 am

I know Iverson didn't do well in Detroit and Denver but I don't think it has anything to do with his age. He needs quick teammates like KG, TA and Rondo to break off tough defense. What can a defensive-minded small forward do for offense off the bench?? We already have Giddens, Walker, Scal and TA. The real problem is Rondo getting out of breath in the fourth quarter and the defense catching up with him. We actually need another quick guard.

i don't know how any of this has to do with AI.

1. he won't come off the bench

2. He won't sign for 1.9m.

Ego bigger then his skill. It's A Walker all over again.

No thanks on Iverson. There is just too much "me first" in the guy. He would be miserable coming off the bench and the limited minutes he'd get behind Rondo/Ray, he would rather play for the Clippers or Grizzlies for the MLE than for a chance at a ring. I don't want anything to do with the guy.

Exactly. Let him go cross up the stiffs in Italy with Steph, while we cruise to another title, drama free.

A.I. has said he'll probably retire before coming off the bench, whether he means it or not the huge ego being expressed here backs up the impression that he is a me-first player that he's been giving off his whole career. Also, on an ego related note, there is no way he signs anywhere for the vet min, even for a shot at a ring. Look at the teams he's been linked to, Memphis and the Clippers. He doesn't care about a ring, he cares about minutes and money.

No f'n ty to A.I.

Well, he has two final choices a ring or early retirement.

Or sign on a subpar team as the starter where he can throw up countless shots.
Definite pass; hope the FO isn't even considering him as an option.
