It's been discussed in another thread on this board. TBH, I don't see how Chicago ends up with Boozer when Houston is giving up all the value to Utah.

I am having difficulty understanding why Houston would trade both Shane & Landry for Thomas. That guy from Utah is obviously a bum if the Jazz are willing to write him off already. I could see Houston doing a Shane Battier for young player & salary dump ala Thomas & James. But why give up Landry?

Granted we would be stacked at PF with Scola, Landry, & Thomas if we didnt include Carl in the trade. But too much depth should not be a reason to a trade a quality player who does have pretty good trade value imo.

If we are giving up Battier & Landry then shouldnt we be getting Boozer?

I not a huge fan of the trade, unless it was landry and say cook and somehow we get back just TT.
Battier id hope we keep for a little while to mentor Ariza, if he was to be traded id like a deal of Rudy Fernandez and Steve Blake(expiring, 3rd PG) for Batman.

I am lazy so just copied and pasted my response in the other thread.

I sent a question to Feigan's blog and see if he would like to share anything about this topics:

Hi Jonathon, I have come across this twitter saying a 3-way trade between Chicago, Utah, and Houston in discussion. Houston seem to get a raw deal. Hope this is not happening! Do you know anything about this?

(Give up two key players to get Thomas? He jumps higher, but is he even better than Carl? -- Jonathan)

Just checked the twitter again and here is what had been displayed:

K.C. Johnson: Sorry, Bulls fans, but Boozer's 'paradise' isn't located in Chicago

So Chicago is not getting Boozer and to whoever think of this rumour from this twitter. The rumour is dead!

I'm starting my own trade rumor. Lets see if this puppy has legs:

"Sources close to this intrepid journalist say a deal between the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns is imminent. Houston would send former Duke standout Shane Battier. Phoenix would return Brazilian Leandro Barbosa, plus a protected 2nd round pick. When reached for comment, the Phoenix guard seemed puzzled yet unfazed. "Que?", being his only reply. Battier was also reached for comment this morning. Sadly, at our 5:00 deadline, he was still talking. A summary of his comments will be published by Random House. "

aaaannndd....GO.

Edit: **this works on the trade checker, actually...and it would be pretty nifty to see just how fast a starting lineup of AB, Barbosa, and Ariza would be.**

I normally don't post information from the hoopsworld.com but have to share this piece of news reported there. Especially the bold part

http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?STORY_ID=13399

Bulls Really Not Interested: Yesterday we led with a 6-player trade rumors that was floated by Bulls.com's Sam Smith and the idea behind the story was clearly lost – that it wasn't going to happen. Sources from all sides of this deal were quick to confirm no interest in such a deal.

The Bulls have been adamant with their players that the core they have now is the core coming to training camp and barring a landslide deal falling their way the roster now is the roster coming to camp in two months.

The Rockets like most of their fans, found the rumored deal to be almost laughable, saying that's not the direction they were headed.

The only teams that liked the "notion" of the deal was the Jazz, because it rid them of Carlos Boozer, but sources close to the situation continue to say Carlos Boozer's best destination at this point remains Miami – although a deal is not close.
If Carlos Boozer is ultimately traded, which Jazz sources said is highly likely, it's not going to be through the Chicago Bulls, unless LeBron, Kobe or Dwight are dropped in their laps and that's simply not going to happen.

More update on the hunt for Boozer  :

Utah is telling teams that it doesn't want merely to shed payroll in a Carlos Boozer deal. The Jazz want to come away from their eventual Boozer trade -- preferably a three-teamer to increase the likelihood of saving money -- with a rotation player.

Luis Scola has been mentioned as a target Utah covets, but sources with knowledge of the Rockets' thinking say emphatically that Houston is not interested in joining the Boozer hunt.

Miami's interest in Boozer, meanwhile, inevitably would spike if the Heat managed to steal Lamar Odom away from the Lakers. Acquiring Boozer between now and February also would give the Team USA power forward full Larry Bird rights to re-sign with the Heat in the summer of 2010 irrespective of where they are in relation to the salary cap. But that interest is unlikely to fade even if Odom stays in L.A., given that Dwyane Wade apparently is eager to see Boozer join him on South Beach.

Bulls are lost on the radar when talks are surrounding Boozer coming to the 773. It seems Jazz wants Scola at this checkpoint.
