Where does Kobe re-sign?

Post#1 » by BostonSun » Wed Jul 22, 2009 3:17 pm

With Kobe being able to opt out of his contract this summer (too late already as of July 1st) or next summer, where do you think he'll ultimately sign? If the Lakers don't win the championship this year I think there is a good chance he tests the free agency market in the summer of 2010 with the likes of Wade, Lebron, Bosh, etc, etc. Ultimately I feel he will re-sign with LA only to keep his legacy in tact (staying with the same team a la Michael Jordan) but I was wondering if this is the same feeling Lakers fans get? Are you guys worried about losing him? Or is it kind of assumed he will just re-sign next summer?

I'm just curious as there is so much talk about all these other stars, but Kobe hasn't been talked about at all, when the possibility of landing him in 2010 could very much so become a reality.

Imagine seeing Bryant in another jersey?? Weird.

He's going straight to Boston along with Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum. Satisfied? Run along now.

Take it easy buddy. I'm not a Celtics fan, good try though. :D

Simply just creating conversation. I'm just intrigued no one is really talking about his possible future. Nothing was being talked about this summer (granted you guys wont the championship and there'd be no reason for him to leave a great team) but I'm just thinking if you guys don't win this upcoming year, there could be a chance he could test the waters.

I expect, after the huge announcement that he and Tiger Woods have permanently wife swapped, Kobe is taking his new honey home to Sweden and will play in their pro league for 15 more yrs until he's 45 like Oscar Schmidt.

Now you know.

Not sure if your following much, but Kobe has two more years on his contract, and is talking extention now with the Lakers, so you are obviously not very well informed.
