Chat w/Jamal Crawford

Not new, but came across this looking for Crawford tidbits. Quite an impressive guy off the court as well. His stats bode well for heavy minutes/game.
To me, it looks as if Craw will take a few minutes from JJ, but more of them will be spent with JJ on the court. Bibby looks to see reduced minutes for the most part.
Crawford reminds me some of Arenas; he has a very smooth stroke and can just hit a deep shot. He gives us a spacing dimension that will turn out to be better than what Flip did for us last year. I liked Flip a lot and hate to see him go elsewhere. But Craw gets to the foul line as well, and has that JJ like ability to score.

Q/A with Craw from ESPN last year: http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/chat/_/id/26025

His website and the things he does back for his community back in Seattle......

Good reading on the guy who might help us the most next year.

Although Knicks were terrible for a loong time now, Crawford has not made the playoffs in his entire 9 season career, do you guys think that it was pretty much because of the teams he was on? or maybe he was partly to be blamed?

I think Crawford's playoff-less streak is a little bit of a statement about both his team's and himself.
He's obviously a player who is a contributor at the NBA level...but at the same time most of the teams he has been on he has been one of the top 2 or 3 players on the team....and no offense to the guy, but he is simply not a top 2 or 3 player on a good team at this level.

put Joe on a bad team for 9 years, and do they make the playoffs?...... i don't know , but Joe was on a bad Hawks team for two years and wasn't able to make it into the playoffs.

put Vince Carter, Ron Artest, Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton on bad teams and can they carry a bad team into the playoffs?

Return to Atlanta Hawks
