Yall got a descent squad for the future

Post#1 » by DFolks » Mon Jul 27, 2009 5:07 pm

As a Bulls fan who went roster browsing, I came to the realization that Yall Clippers fans will soon end, or at least partially end, the pain you have suffered by watching YOUR team since T. Sterling supplanted his feet in L.A.
I think in 2-3 years the Clippers will be annual playoff contenders.
Here are some things I thought of when I browsed YOUR team's roster............

Young Studs:
Future looks bright. You could potentially have your teams 1st, 2nd, and 3rd options just starting their careers. With Blake Griffin, Eric "Illinois hates me" Gordon, and Al Thornton, you have the stat stuffer, star, and banger in Griffin. With Gordon you have their scoring, the great 3-pt range, creating plays but by no means a full time PG. AND with Thornton who have the swingman with elite hops that ACTUALLY knows what to do with the ball in his hands. He can score, dribble, and will dunk on you as if you stole from his mama. D, in my opinion and you may think otherwise, is putrid.
Another young guy with good potential that your team enslaves is DeAndre Jordan. He was dominate in hs, did good the 1st half of college, and sucked the other half. Did he play well for you last year? He seemed good for a while so hope he regains his touch and be a star.

Add these players who are on your team to the players that are in their/past their primes like BDIDDY, Camby, Kaman, newly acquired SMITH, Telfair, and future HOF Ricky Davis. This team is pretty solid. I know your coach sucks, but I think if not this year, than next year you will make the playoffs with the year after reaching the playoffs will go beyond the 1st round.

One more thing, management needs to do is cut the following players as they suck and should not be in the NBA: Mark "Mad Dog" Madson, Collins, Fred Jones, Taylor, and Acker.

Why does every non-clipper fan think Bricky Davis is so good.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

Thanks for noticing how good our team can be.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Not to me. I've noticed the only ones who give Bricky any props are Clipper fans. I'd rather have Boniface N'dong than him.

Yeah I can say the majority don't like him. I don't like him, but I don't hate him either. I just don't see any real reason to despise the guy like everyone else does. There are plenty of selfish players in the league, but that alone shouldn't make me detest him or anyone else for the matter.

Anyways, thanks for the compliment sir.

So, why does T. Sterling not fire Dunleavy? It seems people have been riding the fool the past few years. What makes the owner or GM think he's good enough to LEAD your team to a 'chip?

To me, Dunleavy has been unworthy of a coaching gig for 20 years after his coaching career began with the Lakers. Meaning, he has sucked while coaching the Bucks, Blazers, and now for you guys...

He's the only coach that got us in the playoffs in the past decade. Is that a good reason?... yeah, it isn't.

The reason Dumbleavy is still here? Money. He's owed plenty of $ over the next two years.

He's owed 10M over 2 years. No way Sterling pays for that. If he were making like 1M a year, he'd be gone already.

Thanks for the replies yall. I didn't know YOUR coach was payed that much.

Such a hefty ransom for a coach with a career .505 winning percentage.

With the way Dunleavy has coached our team the past couple of seasons, I'd think it's safe to say that he isn't even worth a bag of chips....yet alone 5 million per year.

Sterling sure got suckered into extending Dunleavy. Let's just hope he doesn't fall for it twice.

....I read somewhere that you will have 35 million to spend next year...! I think it was from a Bill Simmons article on ESPN. If it's true, then the Clips could be awesomely fun.

I wish.

I love Simmons, but no way do we have $35 million to work with.

His $35M cap estimate is unrealistic; it assumes that Telfair declines his player option and that the Clippers don't exercise their option on Al Thornton, both of which are highly doubtful. Of course, even if those things happened, you still can't get to $35M - there are cap holds to consider, and he's at almost $33M just for the four players he wants to put next to LeBron. The reality, as we've discussed before, is that with the salary cap expected to decrease, the Clippers won't even be able to offer a maximum deal to LeBron, let alone pay him AND another free agent. It would be more realistic to suggest that the Clippers would trade Camby, Ricky Davis, Mark Madsen and Mardy Collins for LeBron at the deadline. At least the math works on that deal.

Oh, ok. I never saw how he came up with the amount. Regardless, I will be going to Clippers games in Oakland and Sac.

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
