OT: CHA dumped Okafor for Chandler

Wow, I would never expected the CHA franchise would dumped their best player (You may argue, Wallace is their best player though) for just straight up salary flexibility.

I'm pretty sure they would have obtain ALOT more than just Chandler. They dumped their young defensive anchor! That's crazy.

Garbage. I hope this is just a rumor, cause this trade is the worst thing ive seen since the Pau trade.

If I were a charlotte fan, I would honestly consider boycotting everything about the team and start following MLS or something.

Okafor still being a tad bit overrated I see. He's a solid big, we'll see if he can balloon next to Paul but the truth is he's a 13 ppg, 10 rpg, 1.6 bpg player. Solid, but nothing spectacular. Best player? Maybe, but that ain't saying much.

To be fair, he was underutilized in CHA. But he is still an awesome defensive threat in the league.

IIRC Chandler and Okafor are the same age? Chandler didn't go to college.

Dude, if the Bobcats just wanted a salary dump, I'd have seriously done Kenny Thomas + our current cap space + Greene or something... I mean, seriously. Horrendous deal.

Bobcats gave a 1st rounder too!? Better be heavily protected otherwise this is a terrible deal for them.

Read it again.

RealGm made a mistake. Click on the source (SI.com). The pick is not mentioned in the trade. It only said:

The New Orleans Hornets have finally found a taker for Tyson Chandler. It took a deal with tinkering Charlotte coach Larry Brown, who was willing to jettison the Bobcats' first draft pick.

Okafor was CHA's first draft pick since expansion.

Never trust the wiretap before reading the source.

Whew, good for them. I mean it's the Bobcats but that pick would have sent it over the top! hahaha.
