Toronto Star: Alomar looking to join Jays' front office

Post#1 » by Luv 4 da game » Sat Aug 8, 2009 1:45 pm

Five years after his last professional game, Blue Jays legend Roberto Alomar is ready to return to major league baseball.

Off the field.

He's not sure exactly what role he wants to fill with a big-league club, but is certain that he wants that club to be the Toronto Blue Jays.

Now Alomar believes he can help the Jays win from behind the scenes. He said he isn't sure about working as a coach, but would like a chance to work in the front office or in player development.

"(I'd like to) try to find good, talented players," he said. "To be good in the big leagues you have to start from the bottom. If you get (to play in) a good minor-league system, you're going to get a chance to (reach) the big leagues and do a good job."
