Today's Trade consideration ..

Post#1 » by drivewayball » Wed Aug 12, 2009 11:48 am

Boozer and Miles to Chicago for Jerome James expiring, John Salmons (signed for this year and next) and Tyrus Thomas.

This trade does not save money for the Jazz, nor cost money. Does it make the team better this season? Most fans contend that the the Jazz need more defense around the basket and a better wing scorer. They would get both with this deal, perhaps?

From the Bulls perspective, it is hard to see how they contend without making any changes, particularly without getting a serious low post threat to compliment Noah's defense oriented play. Given the addition of Boozer's scoring and the return of Deng to the lineup this season, it would not seem that the Bulls would require Salmon's scoring.

Conceivably, Brewer could be substituted for Miles.

Jazz rotation:

DWill, Salmons, Kirilenko, Millsap and Okur. Key bench: Brewer or Miles, Thomas, Korver, Koufos, and Price.

Hasnt this trade, or very close versions of it, been brought up about a thousand times already?

And Jazz wouldn't do this because it makes us considerably worse. I also highly doubt Miles is on the block...

As a Bulls fan I would love this trade. The Bulls give up a highly productive 18 -20pt SG that the Jazz need to play along side DWill (Also ILL fan :D ) and a backup super athletic defensive specialist (Block shots) PF (if any coach can reign him in it would be Sloan). The Bulls get a low post scorer in Booz and a young shooting guard to compliment DRose.

This is the most reasonable trade with both teams getting what they need and neither team takes a step back.

Hard to believe KOC hasnt solved the Boozer problem yet! If Chicago wants him and we get Thomas plus James just get it done. If able to add Salmons, better yet. Boozer leaving ends the drama and distraction for training camp. Get it done KOC.

Tyrus Thomas and John Salmons clearly fit the Jazz and help the team fix some problems (shotblocking, athleticism, shooting). That said, the Bulls won't pull the trigger on it.
Anyway, I think all possible deals with Chicago have been already discussed in this forum.

haha Brewer! keep dreaming. As for CJ, I doubt he's moved unless we package him with Booz to get a legit tied up all star.

Booz+Korver for Salmons+Tyrus is a maybe from me, Salmons can opt out in the summer, and probably will, we could tie him up to a cheap deal though, but he could leave for max MLE somewhere else who knows. Tyrus also an expiring, but a RFA.

I'm on the fence, I'd take it if nothing else came along before the start of the season.
