Wednesday Sept 16th. Guillard Vs Diaz. FN on Spike

Post#1 » by Headliner » Wed Aug 12, 2009 5:47 pm

A knee injury has forced UFC veteran Chris Lytle (27-17-5 MMA, 6-9 UFC) out of a scheduled UFC Fight Nigh 19 bout with Carlos Condit.

Ken Pavia of MMAAgents.com, which reps Lytle, today told MMAjunkie.com (http://www.mmajunkie.com) the longtime UFC fighter and runner up on "The Ultimate Fighter 4" tore his meniscus and now has a "blown ACL."

The UFC has not officially announced Lytle's departure from the card, though the organization has ample to find a replacement for the Sept. 16 fight, which was part of the night's Spike TV-televised main card.

Guillard vs Diaz
Huerta vs Maynard
Condit vs Ellenberger
Credeur vs Quarry

Undercard

Cantwell vs Stann
Pyle vs Wilson
Miller vs Dollaway
Stout vs Nover
Stephens vs Buchholz
Larson vs Pierce
Jensen vs Steinbeiss

Hmm... Wonder if UFC will find a replacement fighter to fight Condit, or put Condit on 102 or 103 card ?

I hope they find a replacement. The card is good with or without Condit and Lytle, but it was looking a lot better with.

I like Condit alot. He gave Kampmann a great fight and I think Kampmann is one of the best WW's in MMA.

Bit of a shame, but the fight night card looks excellent even without this.

This blows, I spoke with Carlos yesterday and he was saying how excited he was to go to war with Lytle, he knew it would've been a real crowd pleaser. Out of all the fights on this card I was most looking fwd to this one. I wonder who they could find to replace Lytle on such short notice.

Karo and Marcus Davis both make sense as replacements.

Isn't Karo on suspension after testing positive for pain killers after UFC 94 ?

What about Hazlett or Goulet or Rumble Johnson as replacement fighter to fight Condit ?

The UFC would not throw Johnson in with him. They are grooming him.

Who Carlos or Anthony ? I think that wouldn't be a bad fight for either, and Johnson is no scrub so he wouldn't be an unworthy throw in. Personally I'd like to see Rumble and Swick fight.

So what about Hazlett or Goulet for Condit ?

I am saying the UFC would not allow Rumble to fight Condit. He is not ready for that fight and the UFC knows it.

Rumble is being groomed as the heir apparent to GSP and Condit is too tought of a fight for him at the stage he is at.

I think both those would make good replacements.

I think Hazlett would be a good match up vs Condit. I think Karo is still on suspension, and I see Condit submitting Davis .

Hazlett would be a very scary fight, his BJJ is off the chain. That would be a great match up.

Personally, I think Condit beats anyone we have mentioned so far...and Lytle too for that matter.

I think Condit would keep it standing and likely either KO him or grind out a decision. It is a fight I would like to see though.

It sucks that they're in different divisions, because i'd love to see Hazelett and Sotiropoulos mix it up. That would be balls out.

Condit has good BJJ too and is very good on the ground. He also has good Muay Thai
