What about Arroyo?

Post#1 » by BillessuR6 » Thu Aug 13, 2009 9:11 pm

There aren`t many veteran PG`s available...Marbury, Lue, Bobby Jackson...not much quality left...

Arroyo supposedly wants to return to the NBA and from all the FA PG`s I think he is the best. He signed a nice contract with Maccabi last year but I think he might be interested if we offered him the LLE...

I believe he could be a very nice back up PG for us. He has great handles, can shoot, is experienced...at this point he would be our best option...

The only other way we can get a decent backup PG is through trades...I don`t think that anyone left on the FA market except Arroyo can crack our playoff rotation and help us in the postseason...

I think it would be a great signing. I'm sure we would offer the LLE, but I guess it just comes down to how bad he wants to return to the NBA. I also wonder how much he'd wanna come here with the limited playing time we'll have available.

Marbury, Jackson and Lue are all better than Arroyo. Even House is a better PG.

What makes you say that?

EDIT: My opinion, there's no way House is a better PG than Arroyo. As far as the others, I think Arroyo is very capable, I'd certainly rather have Lue or Arroyo running my offense than small SGs like House and Jackson. And for Marbury, I cannot figure that guy out for the life of me.

Jackson is capable of running an offense as well as scoring within the O. House did fine running point IMO, but even with a capable point guard, the offense should always be run through one of the Big Three when Rondo isn't in there.

Arroyo wasnt any good in maccabi last year.
When he came here to Israel everybody was very hyped but he just flat out disappointed. His didnt play like a real PG and his shots/slashes were not as good as you would have expected from an NBA player in the Israel League...

I firmly believe the Celtics should just re-sign Marbury and call it an off-season

I firmly believe that Marbury no longer thinks he's a human being.
