Brian Skinner. hows his game?

Post#1 » by twenty23 » Sun Aug 16, 2009 12:18 am

Is he still able to play some minutes?
Hows his defense?
Can he rebound?
Most importantly, hows his mid range shot?

He had a 20 point game last season. So yes to all of your questions.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

He gave up $1.3 million to become a free agent and most likely is regretting it.

I never liked him much. To me he was just the guy to play by default when everyone was hurt and nothing more.

Played in the league for 11 years. He can help a contender.

I can see a team like Phoenix signing him to the vet min, since they need big man depth and he played fairly well for them a few years ago.

He can still play some spot minutes for someone out there that needs depth. There are certainly worse players out there. I've always kinda like Skinner, at least a few years back. He always played hard and hit his shots when I saw him.

Skinner would be best used for a contender that is already solid in their foundation and just want add a strong, wide-bodied veteran big. He's a good shot-blocker and a decent offensive rebounder. If you are looking for him to contribute offensively, then you should probably look elsewhere. He is capable of hitting a couple shots from the top of the key or elbow, but he's really shaky near the basket.

Skinner sucks. Yeah he can block shots here and there but he can't do anything else. There's a reason why he's a journeyman.
