So I'm a little torn. I made Billy Butler a no question keeper the other day, which leaves me one spot remaining.
Do I keep Jay Bruce, Scott Kazmir, or Scott Baker.
Jay Bruce could explode, but was a strikeout machine and hit in the low 200s. But he could break out and hit 30-40 homeruns next year.
Kazmir struggled mightly, but then picked it up after his trade to LA and his strikeout numbers were great.
Baker was consistent all year, but nothing spectacular.
Thoughts?
Edit: Sorry the rest of my keepers are
Rollins
Crawford
Ellsbury
Morales
Holliday
Butler
Chris Carpenter
King Felix
Josh Johnson

Bruce no question, I would probably keep Bruce over half your keepers too, but thats probably besides the point.

Why though? I get the potential aspect, but the low average and loads of strikeouts scare me.

Re: Who do I keep? Bruce, Kazmir, Baker
He's 22 and has hit 39 HR in 801 major league plate appearences, thats pretty crazy. He dominated the minors, and it's not like he did it in hitter friendly leagues like the PCL, TEX, or CAL. He plays in a park that will help his numbers and in a inferior league. Hell he only has a 20% K% and for a 30 HR threat, that is pretty impressive. He's not going to be a .300 hitter, but he's also not going to be a sub .250 hitter. His BABIP was .212 this year, and while BABIP in a hitter is a skill no one sustains a .212 BABIP, it's much more likely to come up to about .290+ helping his average immensely. Before the season I had Bruce as a top 40 fantasy hitter and as a 22 year old that would make him one of the top keepers in a league. While he has fallen some, it certainly isn't that much.

Uh oh, I wouldn't go doing that now.
