Why for MIN? Saves 1.5 million dollars. Blount won't play, Harpring won't play, so that cancels out.
Why for UTAH? Gives them a 7-footer not named Kosta freakin' Koufos. They get a future 2nd for taking on the additional salary.

The Jazz should be able to recover the majority of Harpring's salary from insurance if he misses at least half the season.

Can't see Utah doing this cause Harpring's contract is good for them. And don't they already have their fair share of jump shooting big men?

The idea is sound, but if Harpring gets insurance, its a mess.

On the floor, Blount's bit of production > Harpring's production. If there's insurance we can't come close.

I did a lot of work looking at a Harpring deal to MIN when we still had Atkins. While the Jazz would save money from the insurance, Harpring's full salary remains on the books, and that's doubled. Atkins plus (cap space we could provide) could have reduced the Jazz overall payroll, and with doubling for the lux, it would have saved both teams money.

Just one of many teams over the lux that could have made an Atkins deal that would automatically save money for both teams.

Daniels for Harpring makes more sense.
