WOOT WOOT!!! I'm kind of glad KG is finally getting some props even though he had to leave Minny to get them.

KG is an absolute beast on D.

It would be amazing if he could come over here and teach Al, Kevin and Ryan how to play D more efficiently.

Gotta love what KG made out of Kendrick Perkins.

San Antonio posters disagree with these rankings.

I'd prolly put Timmy D a spot or two higher also. No way he's number 1 though. Here's the thing...KG can guard players at EVERY position. He's such a versatile defender. Not only that but in the way he defends he also makes the rest of his team defend better. KG deserves #1, because he'll always be my #1 :)

I'm suprised they didn't list Kobe on that list. he has a reputation of being a great defender... I don't mind it though but I'm sure the Church of Kobe will be very pissed - if they realize their god isn't among the top 10. they'll probably see the 3 pics in that list thinking Kobe got in there 3 times.

anyway, 'gratz KG. you deserve it! I'd put Duncan at #2 though.

I disagree that KG can SUCCESSFULLY guard every position ... He's versatile, but I've seen him lit up by SG's and SF's many times and that is clearly not his strength. TIm Duncan CAN guard all 5-positions TOO, but ...

The KG "guarding every position theory" is merely wishful thinking ... it's a a very selective process of determining who can guard who ... it's a game of matchups.

He can't successfully guard every player, but I think he has successfully guarded players at every position.

Remember, this is the best defender over the last ten years. The young, SF Garnett could defend a lot of positions with his speed and length - something Duncan would never have a chance at.

I think Timmy can guard the post better, and is maybe the best in the game. But that's all he can do. He even slacks off the PF's who shoot from outside. Moreover, he has had less responsibility as well, with KG defending everyone through a porous Wolves defense.

I think over the last ten years, Garnett has been a better defender than Duncan.

The only spot Duncan guards better is the 5, and it's pretty marginal. His man defense has always been overrated, and he gets scorched by PF's that KG craps on (Amare for one). Duncan's strength is anchoring and help defense, his man D has been overrated for some time now.

Garnett should be 1, and he should have always been at 1, but he would have never got placed there if he didn't go to Boston, and that's what is so sad about sports.

Duncan is clearly number 2 though, and Shane Battier might be the most overrated defender of all time. I appreciate his hustle and his attention to detail, and how smart and nice he is, but he isn't an anchor at all, and he gets lit up a lot. Making guys take tough shots is nice and all, but you have to actually make them miss most of it.

Garnett
Duncan
Wallace

I don't know how the top 3 can be any different, even if it isn't that order.

I remember when KG would defend Kidd. Man I miss this guy.
