A New Tradition

Post#1 » by ElectricMayhem » Mon Oct 5, 2009 2:04 am

Legend has it (although denied by Snopes), that some of the '72 Miami Dolphins have a champagne toast each year when the final unbeaten team loses their first game.

Nobody is a fan of 0-16 seasons, but I'm sure we do have a lot of fans of drinking. After the final winless NFL team claims their first victory each year, we need a toast. Obviously, it has to be something with a lot less class than champagne. Any suggestions? We've probably got a little bit of time before the decision has to be made. Here are the remaining winless teams:

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7)

...because having a sense of humor and being a Detroit Lions fan go hand in hand.

I hope they all get wins and soon (just not against us Browns and Rams).

I don't think any fan wants to experience what we have. And to be honest, I want the Lions with another top 5 pick next April, so some of these teams better get moving.

Rams are currently 0-14 I believe. They are treading on our recently departed waters.

I'm game for this..... *starts chilling some beer and liquor*

Cleveland and Carolina won today, leaving 4 winless teams. The Titans came out of nowhere, but they will win this year. The other 3? They're the ones trying to keep our alcohol cupboard locked.

If the Rams don't beat us, they could very well go 0-19 since they face the Jags (In Jacksonville), Colts, Lions (in Detroit), Saints in their next four games.

Ugh. Why did we have to give them a win? Well, that wasn't the last of one, but I'm sure all Lions fans could use a drink.

Well the only good thing to come of the loss. If there is a tiebreaker at the end of the season, Lions get the better pick. Other than that.... UGH I really wanted this one.

*bottoms up*

Well, no 'mo 0-fers. Lions are officially tied for the worst record in the league.

I'm late, but I'll take a drink anyway. Look forward to next year's as well.
