Complaint to Mods

Post#1 » by Quiet-Storm » Sun Oct 11, 2009 3:54 pm

Heres the deal.

I got banned for 3 days because of a "sig that was too big".

I have gotten banned in the past for a large sig. But that was a full year ago. Back then I didn't quite know how to check sig dimensions so I got ones that were too large.

Anyway, someone explained to me how to check and I fixed my sig.

That was a full YEAR ago. Back then it took literally two or three days before a Mod noticed the large sig size and banned me for it.

This time I stayed a FULL YEAR with the same sig size (because it was allowable dimensions).

Then out of the blue I get banned for apparently having a oversized sig, and my sig privileges get taken away.

And when I try to contact/PM the mod(s) who banned me, I can't because for some unknown reason, RealGM forum is unlike ever other forum in the world and you cannot even contact the moderators.

In addition, when I got banned 3 days ago, I logged in and got the message that I was banned temporarily because my sig was of a "sexual nature"

It was a sig was based on the last third of this clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYncM3cy0-k

Then I log on today and the PM's in my inbox stating the reason the ban is not because of the "sexual nature" of my sig, but because my sig was "too large".--- The same sig which ive had for a year, and mods have seen countless times in the Offtopic forum, Raptors forum, media forum, and general nba forum - of which I frequently post.

This is utter mod abuse. I want to know whether mods have the ability to manually change peoples avatars and sigs. Because if they do, I STRONGLY suspect that the mod BlameRasho is the one who got me banned by switching my sig to a larger one (which instantly changes all the sigs in your previous posts to the new one. That would definitely get me banned.) Why? Because he and I got into an argument in a thread in the boxing forum where I called him out in this thread.

viewtopic.php?f=270&t=902291&start=90

After a few days he responds to the post (meaning thats when he first saw it, because the boxing fourm's traffic is pretty slow.)

And 6 hours later i'm banned for an inappropriate sig.

I guarantee 100% he purposely went into my user control panel with his mod access and changed my sig dimensions as a sneaky way to get me banned. I've had the same sig for a year with no problems ... and then 6 hours after mod who I dislike reads a post where I call him out for un-modly behavior , i get banned.

Really really really annoying. Aren't there IP logs or ways to check moderator activity when they access other peoples User Control Panels?

edit.

heres a link to the gif I used as a sig. It was EXACTLY like this one below in dimensions, except it was a choppier and smaller in kb due to fewer frames. Listed in the sig guidlines, the rule is that it must be smaller than 400x90. This one is 152x80.

No it was my sig. My avatar for the longest time until I changed it about a month back was a smaller version of this one.

I think you're off the mark. Who sent you the PM?

What? He had that sig forever. It wasn't even a large size, just animated.

That sig was awesome! It definitely wasn't too big either.

Too graphic? Why wasn't it too graphic all year long with countless mods seeing it including yourself in the Off-topic forum?
Why is it suddenly too graphic 6 hours after BlameRasho reads the thread where I had words with him?

Why did the first message I got say i was suspended because my sig was "of a sexual nature".

But then after my suspension is over, the two pm's in my inbox from the mods Miller4Ever and Tb#1 both say they are banning me for having an oversized sig. And get this. 5 hours after mod BlameRasho replies to my post, TB#1 sent me a WARNING for an "oversized sig". Then 1 hour later TB#1 bans me for an oversized sig.

So all year long no one cared about my apprantely oversized sig of a sexual nature, and the 5 hours after BlameRasho responds to my post, I get a warning and a ban in quick succession from two separate mods?

Gimme a break. He went into my User Control Panel, and linked a oversized image for my signature in order to get some other mod to ban me

(Ps. Thanks for the support DelaneyRudd and NyKnicks1714. Appreciate it)

I don't know your situation, but I can tell you mods can't get into user control panels. Admins only. On top of that, your conspiracy claim is a little far fetched. If you recieved a PM from a specific Mod(s) they were the ones involved in your suspension.
I can guarantee you that.

I would make a point to get in contact with one of the mods who PM'd you maybe through there team/email address.

I understand you are frustrated, but I have never seen a mod do and or even talk about what you are claiming. Thats way too much effort..
Cheers. — Mags

idk anything about the suspension, but I definitely remember quiet's sig. It never seemed inappropriate or overly large, I just thought it was funny after his posts in the Muslim thread. Also, I didn't think it was possible to upload a sig that was bigger than the allotted dimensions.

I saw the one with the cop flipping his gun around, but I don't remember the part where he puts it in his zipper and shoots the bad guys.
And don't blame rasho -

According to my PM log, I sent a message on September 25 indicating that his sig was too big.

How do you know something is too big. The dimensions of the sig were fine. It had to be the bit size of the gif.

Is this one the right size?

If you'd like to report a post, click the exclamation point. Just explain in the comment that you think the sig is too big. That's it.

It wasn't just the dimensions. It was an extremely inappropriate sig. I don't know if someone got into your account and put up the sig as a joke, but the fact is, I saw it, I reported it to an admin, they saw it and immediately took it down. Since it was the second violation on the account, it was a 3-day suspension, but I don't have the power to execute that. The sig was recently changed at the time (less than 24 hours), and it wasn't the one that you are saying you've had.

EDIT*-I've seen the one that you're saying you had, and it was a good one, I'll give you that. In any case, that is not the sig we had a problem with.
