Advice Needed - Yahoo! H2H 9 Cats...

Post#1 » by Maximus74 » Mon Oct 26, 2009 11:23 pm

This is my first ever basketball pool... the guys in the office needed a 12th..

Please be brutally honest and assess my team - strengths, weaknesses... the guys know I'm a noob and will prey on me in trades.. what types of trades should I look for? I tried to draft a balance of scoring, boards, assists, 3s, steals, and decent FT and FG%... I ignored turnovers and blocks...

Round Pick Player Position
1. (6) Kobe Bryant SG
2. (19) Jose Calderon PG
3. (30) Troy Murphy PF,C
4. (43) Rashard Lewis SF,PF
5. (54) Mehmet Okur PF,C
6. (67) Hedo Turkoglu SG,SF
7. (78) Mike Bibby PG
8. (91) Shaquille O'Neal C
9. (102) Thaddeus Young SF,PF
10. (115) Chris Duhon PG
11. (126) Tayshaun Prince SF,PF
12. (139) Ramon Sessions PG,SG
13. (150) Udonis Haslem PF,C
14. (163) Anthony Parker SG,SF

It doesn't look terribly bad, there are some guys you probably took a bit high and I think you can find a better 14th man than Anthony Parker... I'll get back to you on your strengths and weaknesses later...

don't like your team at all... Calderon taken too high, Murphy i'm not a huge fan of (though if you really value 3pt he's good), Shard is out for 10 games, and they have a deeper frontcourt and less scoring dependance. Not a big Bibby guy, esp. considering that Crawford is a healthier, younger, better scorer. Not a Shaq believer - plus his FT% will kill you. Parker is a role player on a very deep team - he will play great, but he wont be a fantasy contributor (or at least not a good one for such a small league)

Like Memo and Turk, though don't expect breakout seasons from either. Thad Young is a very nifty pick. Sessions was good considering where you got him, but I fully expect Flynn to be the main man. Tay and Duhon are veyr good value considering you picked them up so late.
