SACRAMENTO, CA, November 5, 2009 ---- The Sacramento Kings today requested waivers on swingman Desmond Mason, according to President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Mason, currently in his 10th NBA season and first with the Kings, averaged 2.6 points (.417 FGs, .750 FTs) and 2.6 rebounds per game through five outings (started four) for Sacramento.

Not that surprising. I doubt we look at any 7 footers though unless an injury occurs. I dont think they want to carry 15 players.

I thought they might run a couple games or so to let Mason/Udoka battle it out, but I assume they saw enough of Mason to cut him.

Dang one of our start already got cut. I don't really know what they expected out of Mason. He seemed to do ok when he was in the game. We weren't asking him to score, maybe he wasnt playing defense like they thought he would. Anyways Udoka will probably be a better fit anyways. See ya Desmond it's been fun, actually it hasn't even been that fun but see ya later anyways.

I would usually say I like Desmond Mason, and I do, he's a cool dude, but SERIOUSLY, he didn't do anything while he was with this team, I kinda like the Udoka signing, let's see what happens

He had his good moments. I can see him doing some good on a contender, we need much more here.

Unfortunately though I had hoped that Mason's signing would work out well, he is what he has always been - a runner/jumper. Unfortunately, he is now an older runner/jumper and his time has passed.
