Ben Wallace question

Post#1 » by @ndrew » Fri Nov 20, 2009 8:02 am

http://www.jockbio.com/Bios/Wallace/Wallace_bio.html

Draft day came and went, and Ben’s name wasn’t even whispered. He hooked on with the Boston Celtics summer league team, but coach M.L. Carr told him he was not big enough, tall enough or strong enough to be an NBA power forward. Carr played him on the perimeter, hoping he could become a shooting guard. One problem: Ben couldn’t shoot. He was cut soon after, but vowed to prove Carr wrong.

Hello, Boston fans. I was looking into Big Ben bio and found this fact. Did somebody of you remember it? Or is it just a made up BS?

Thanks for your help

It is legit, though Pitino is usually blamed even though he was still at Kentucky. We were also in the process of throwing the season in effort to get Tim Duncan or KVH. Ah the bad old days. That wasn't the Dwayne Schintzus year it was more the Marty Conlon/Brett Szabo year.

Big Ben wasn't much of a ball player until a rookie head coach was given a CBA roster so that he would lose enough to get a high lottery pick to go with a ton of cap space and he went .500 and won coach of the year.
