Hi folks,
Just some quick questions for those who've attended games. My friends are rolling down to do some Black Friday shopping this week and might catch the Wolves-Suns game.
- is it recommended that we take a car to the game? If so, how much does parking usually go for? How's the traffic heading home?
- would a cab ride from the Mall of America to the Target Center cost a lot of money? Are there any other forms of public transit available, ie a train?
- how much is beer at the Target Center? What do you recommend I try out in terms of food at the arena?
- should I spring for the meet and greet package? Which players do I get to meet before the game?
Thanks for the info. Really lookin forward to catchin Big Al do his thing down on the block. Cheers.

There's a light rail station at the Mall of America that will take you downtown. I think the parking is free in Bloomington too, so that's the way to go. If you park downtown, it will probably cost you 5-10 bucks.

im also from winnipeg just like yourself (used to live in minneapolis tho)..il be going straight downtown from the afternoon wild game, however, if you are near the mall of america, the best thing to do is just hop on the light rail like the above poster mentioned..works best for vikings/twins games as well, and only costs like 3.50 per person
if you are going to drive, the best thing to do is park in one of the valet ramps nearby..you will see signs for them on the streets around the arena..in terms of traffic, its not bad at all leaving a Wolves game..when i would go to wolves games when they were good the traffic wasnt bad, so with all of a couple of thousand people leaving, there certainly wont be anything to worry about there
a cab from my grandmas to the airport is usually around 25 bucks, and its all of 5-10 minutes away, so i wouldnt recommend a cab
beer is more expensive at minnesota sports venues than it is at the MTS Center or Canadinns Stadium..but you should definitely get the pulled pork at the famous dave's stand at target center

take the light rail from mall of america to 5th street/hennepin. Target Center like 4 blocks away. Plus you can take in all the scenery on the train ride. There's that bridge, and then a Walgreens, then another bridge (for bicycles), then some buildings, then your stop. Dont forget your camera.

Um, you can take the lightrail to the station right between the Target Center and Target Field, now. Unless of course Walgreens is your thing.

And don't forget, it might be illegal to drink on the train but if it's in a non-descript container (say, Jack and Coke in a 32 ounce SA mug), no one cares.
And remember...the answer is No, officer, I do not give you permission to search my person.
And
Yes I was drinking, but I'm not drunk I'm just taking the train to the Wolves game to meet my friends.

dude last week I was on the light rail just absolutely tanked and a cop came up to me and was like "you been drinkin boy?" but I had a secret trick I do to get out of these situations, I hid a quarter in the palm of my hand and reached behind the cop's ear and I go "hey whats that behind your ear?!?!" and pulled out the quarter and he started laughing and clapping like small child and then I hand him the shiny quarter and he was in awe and started to put it his mouth but I said "No!", but not angrily, just sternly because I'm good with kids

I've been beyond bombed a few times on the light rail. I absolutely love that you can stumble out of Sneaky Petes right into a train. Preferably when it's stopped, with the doors open, waiting for you like the arms of a lover after a rough day; and not when it's still moving, thus running you over like the wreck that same damn lover left you in because you couldn't just suck it up and quit sniveling like a little baby. DAMN YOU RACHEL! I SAY DAMN YOU!
