How will they fare? Can they win the East easily?

G - Nelson/J-Will
G - Prime Vinsanity/Reddick
C - Howard/Gortat
PF - Shard/Bass/Anderson
SF - Pietrus/Barnes

I would say so. Magic are one of the top teams right now, if Vince Carter was in his prime, they would instantly become better.

I always thought prime VC was a bit overrated, but he was still really good and would have been able to win with this year's Magic team

Well it doesn't really matter if he was overrated or not. Vince Carter in his prime will always be a better player than he is now which makes the answer to this question a bit obvious.

They'd definitely win the east. Prime VC is better than current Pierce (Pierce is obv better currently) by a good margin and Howard is better than Garnett presently. Nelson and Lewis is pretty close to Rondo and Allen. The Magic have a deeper bench. Cleveland would not be able to guard Carter. Parker gets destroyed by old Carter and Prime VC would just dominate West in the post.

They'd seriously challenge the Lakers. Not sure if they'd win though Prime Vince wasn't that inferior to a current Kobe.

Think about taking off Vince and adding Durant to the Magic. If that helps you visualize how good they'd be.
