Novak

Post#1 » by portlandoden » Mon Dec 28, 2009 11:58 am

Firstly, good win today :)
I saw a Clippers game not too long ago and saw Novak was given his first stint off the bench in the last few possessions of a close game... and watching the highlights of the Boston game it seems he was on the court for the final shot.
Pretty darn puzzling to me, any reason why?

He is that kind of guy who can sit the entire game on the bench and then come and hit the final shot. He's been struggling this season though. I hope he can gain confidence when he gets some playing time.

actually in a recent interview he said that he is aware of his position in the team and that he only be on the court when Clippers need a 3 point shot desperately. He said he practices for those shots.
I dont know how honest he is but he basically said he is ok with playing only less than a few minutes a game.

I'm glad to hear that, donemilio.
He's a really good guy. I've liked him since his rookie year with the Rockets when he played a key role in a very funny Christmas promo they did.
I'm happy to have him here, and I hope he is glad to be on the team, and can accept his particular contribution.

He is a great guy to have on the team. He is great at what he does (shoot threes) and he is a great locker room presence and understands his role on the team.

I'm sure that he would love to see more playing time, but he does make millions playing basketball while living in Southern California. He's just living the dream 8-) .

He's kind of used to coming in at crucial moments after sitting for 2+ hours, so maybe he's just used to it and chooses to not let it faze him. I'd love to see him get more time, but I also understand why he doesn't. If he truly is content with that role, then I'm truly impressed that he is that humble of a person.

Bulls fan here. We'll gladly take him off your hands if you guys aren't going to utilize him.

Novak does need more playing time. In the Boston game, take his +/- and make into 48 minutes and he had a +5,760. Beast!!

But seriously, like said, he knows his role (just like Skinner does) and is ready whenever called on. I'd like him in there at times when Al and 'Sual can't hit a shot to save their lives or when Kaman's beasting and Al's man keeps cheating down due to Al's lack of a consistent jumper.

I hope he'll get good minutes tonights game against Portland. They'll most likely play a zone defense to stop Kaman in the paint and that could give us lots of open shot which Novak can utilize.

Yeah, I think he understands his limitations as a player, and should be happy to have a role and a contract.

3-point specialists are sorta like NFL kickers, it can go bad pretty quick so appreciate it when the going is good...
