Yeah, I agree...
Next to going into the crowd, I can't really think of anything worse than pulling a gun on a teammate... Pulling a gun on someone outside the league is stupid but you might be able to explain it away by saying it was a 'crazed fan' or 'celebrities are targets'... But a teammate is a peer... It just paints the NBA in the worst possible light.

I'm a fan of both those guys, but they definately should be suspended for a long time if there's any truth to this...
I wonder what they were gambling on?

It also probably makes both of them untradeable while people wait to see what happens.

That Wizzard team is just frustrating as hell... They should be right there in the thick of things given their talent, but they're always on the outside looking in.

If any of this is true I guess it pretty much means a blow up and rebuild scenario for Washington. It could have a pretty big impact on the league.

they should both get suspended, but arenas deserves the harsh penalty....i'd think critt did it in self defense since:
1. arenas pulled the gun out first
2. arenas owed critt money

but seriously, like god has given these fools a gift no one can ever take away from them except themselves. i dont understand why they cant just live a normal life, play ball, and have a good time...its pretty stupid that even these 30 year olds dont know what the hell they are doing, kinda shows the immaturity level of our own country as a whole...i doubt i'd see something so stupid like this in european basketball.

No wonder why they keep losing... gambling. IMO, Guns + Gambling = banned from the NBA.

That's what happens when you get around dysfunction on a daily basis. Javaris should have been smarter than that and realized it was no way in hell Gil was going to pull the trigger, so he should've just went straight to the police.

I don't know if its Gilbert, or what...but that organization is falling fast and not specifically on the court. All this off the court ish is gonna start piling up like the Jail Blazers from a couple years back.

It's too bad cause a couple seasons ago they were one of favorite young, up and coming teams...
Thank you, Phil.

as i understand it there is nothing ilegal about owning a gun and self defense is a justifiable reason to use it. so why are people prejudging Critt in this situation?

1. CLEARLY J-Critt learned a few things from playing in a city near Compton!
2. PERFECT time to bring him back home where he belongs!

he can't have a gun in the arena/practice facility so at best he's still violating a part of his contract.

OT: Merry Xmas Critt & Arenas pull guns on each other

Post#16 » by Mamba Venom » Fri Jan 1, 2010 11:33 pm

NEW YORK -- Washington Wizards teammates Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton drew guns on each other during a Christmas Eve locker room argument over a gambling debt, according to The New York Post.

Last week, the Wizards and Arenas acknowledged that Arenas had stored unloaded firearms in a container in his locker, and the NBA said it was looking into the situation.

Odd. Neither one of these guys ever gave me a vibe of being hardcore. Both mild mannered guys easy going guys I thought.

You're right snaq it's nothing illegal about ownership of a gun, but what they have to worry about is the right to carry a concealed weapon which in the city of Washington D.C. has some of the strictest rules in the country.......only naturally considering it's where the presidents live.
