Week 17 of the National Football League

Post#1 » by Mags FTW » Sun Jan 3, 2010 5:50 pm

Lots of playoff spots and seeds are still on the line. Should be a fun day.

FYI, Jay Glazer just said the Packers will play their starters for the majority of the game.

Go Giants.....even if we can't match up with the Vikings in round one, it would be great to see Brent start the playoffs while on a big losing streak.

Yeah, something wrong with his knee. Was in serious pain on the sidelines.

Yeah, the national media will be back to blowing Brent and the Queens after this one. "Vikings look primed for playoff run." There will be no mention of the Giants completely mailing it in.

If Vikings win, Packers play Cardinals

By Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel
Jan. 3, 2010 1:10 p.m.

Green Bay -- Ahead, 24-0, the Minnesota Vikings appear in control of their game with the New York Giants.

Assuming they don't fold, the Packers will play the Arizona Cardinals regardless of what happens the rest of the day (ties not included).

Here are the scenarios:

The Packers beat Arizona:

* If Dallas beats Philadelphia, Minnesota (12-4) is the second seed, Dallas (11-5) is the third seed, Arizona (10-6) is the 4th seed, Green Bay (11-5) is the fifth seed and Philadelphia (11-5) is the sixth seed.

* If Philadelphia beats Dallas, Philadelphia (12-4) is the second seed, Minnesota (12-4) is the third seed, Arizona (10-6) is the 4th seed, Green Bay (11-5) is the fifth seed and Dallas (10-6) is the sixth seed.

The Packers lose to Arizona:

* If Dallas beats Philadelphia, Minnesota (12-4) is the second seed, Arizona (11-5) is the third seed, Dallas (11-5) is the fourth seed, Philadelphia (11-5) is the fifth seed and Green Bay (10-6) is the sixth seed.

* If Philadelphia beats Dallas, Philadelphia (12-4) is the second seed, Minnesota (12-4) is the third seed, Arizona (11-5) is the fourth seed, Green Bay (10-6) is the fifth seed and Dallas (10-6) is the sixth seed.

In the NFL's playoff format, the first and second seeds get byes. In the wild card round, No. 3 plays No. 6 and No. 4 plays No. 5.

Well we can now look forward to preseason game #5 at 3:15. I'd love to see Rodgers break Brent's all time best but I don't see it happening. Our defense should be plain vanilla too.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I can see Dilfer already, "we told you that they would right the ship before the playoffs started!". So much that comes out of his mouth is an epic face palm.

My heart just sank into my stomach. Watching the Pitt-Miami game, and Pat White (2nd string QB for the Dolphins) just took a crushing shot from Ike Taylor. It was helmet to helmet, and you could tell immediately that White was hurt. He just dropped like a sack of bricks. I'm hoping for the best, but it definitely looks like a head/neck injury.

All the Bears need are completely new WR's, a completely new OL, like 7 players on defense and for Cutler to become a completely different player and they will be right back in the thick of it.
