NET PERs and Total Minutes after 36 Games

Post#1 » by Jammer » Wed Jan 13, 2010 2:21 am

Here are the NET PERs after 36 Games, which is Your PER minus Your Man's PER.

The statistician who calculates these says the more minutes played,
the more reliable an indicator the NET PER number;

and requires 1182 total minutes during the 82 game regular season
to qualify for a End of regular season ranking.

NET PER ********* Player ************ Total Minutes
+08.6 ******* Kevin Garnett ************ 891
*07.1 ******* Rajon Rondo ************* 1272
+06.7 ****** Paul Pierce *************** 1115
+03.2 ****** Ray Allen ****************** 1315
+03.2 ****** Kendrick Perkins ********* 1043

+03.0 ****** Glen Davis **************** 127 (not a lot of minutes means # could change greatly)
+01.5 ****** Eddie House ************** 590
+00.6 ****** Tony Allen ***************** 297
+00.2 ****** Marquis Daniels *********** 387

-02.5 ****** Rasheed Wallace ******** 812 (pretty low considering that huge game against Toronto)
-05.7 ****** Sheldon Williams ******** 406
-06.8 ****** Justin Giddens ************ 82

-14.0 ****** Brian Scalabrine ********* 278 (watch for him in D League Next Year)
xxxx ****** Billy Walker **************** 6 (too pitiful to print the actual number, but only 6 minutes)

Like I've been saying for two years,
the Celtics need a backup wing that can shoot
(meaning one of Tony Allen or Marquis Daniels is redundant)
and a backup PG that can handle pressure defense & MAKE SHOTS.

Even with those two guys, I still want Eddie around as a shooter,
because this team doesn't have enough of them.
