Detroit wants to make some deals

Post#1 » by cfan79 » Fri Jan 15, 2010 11:18 am

I think now is the perfect time to make a deal for Rip and/or Prince. Detroit did have some interest in Baby in the offseason. Maybe we can put him in the deal to sweeten it.

(How about?)

Baby and Expirings

Prince would be a great addition if he wasn't hurt so much this year... If he gets healthy I'd swap Davis for him in a heartbeat.

The Pistons want to trade small for big not just give away Prince. I am not touching Rip Hamilton and his contract, I would just assume sign Stackhouse.

And even if we tried for just prince it would have to be scal BBD and t. allen and giddens. or house. a 4 for 1 deal seem a bit much

What's your problem with Rip? Everytime I've seen him he's looked really good. He's quick and shoots the ball well. A suitable replacement for Ray if he decides to leave after the season.

His play has significantly declined through what should have been his prime years 28-31 to the point that he is shooting 39% from the field and 23% from 3 granted that is only through 11 games, because he has already missed 25 games due to injury a number that has grown each year.

On its own not terrible but when you factor he has 3 years and 37.5 mil left on his contract after this year through ages 32-35 and is his extremely fragile it is a problem.

I have Rip on my fantasy team and he is stinking up the joint.

Joe D should be shot for that extension.

Prince also doesn't seem to be the player that he once was, but I'd trade for him if we had the right pieces.

I'm too lazy to check, but doesn't BBD have base year status? That would help reduce the trade requirements..

Rips stats look O.K. to me. Especially for a guy coming off an injury. He was the leading scorer last night for the Pistons. Detroit just has too many players at small forward and shooting guard right now.
