These were some quotes that were attributed to Rasheed after the Mavs game last nite.

“If you look at all of Dirk’s games, where he went off a lot, he has to guard nobody on defense,’’ Wallace said. “He has to guard dudes that are like the fourth or fifth option.’’

Rasheed, why can't you just give the man his props instead of taking potshots at him. I know you only have selective memory but Dirk has lit your a$$ up many times over the years (remember 40 & 15 in a Game 7 win against your Portland Trailblazers), when you were actually good. Hell, he has even put up extraordinary numbers consistently against players like KG & Duncan who are far superior to you in every way. This is, in no way, a slam against the Celtics. In fact, I like your team but it pisses me off when a buster like Rasheed disrespects Dirk's game.

Sheed speaks the truth. Dirk is amazing on offense, but his D isn't exactly All-Defense level.

No doubt about the defense, but he insinuated Dirk only has good games against guys like Scalabrine.

I don't know about that. I think he was referring more to the fact that he doesn't have to cover anyone that good on D, so in essence he just plays offense. I mean, he pretty much torched the entire team last night.

Defensive much Mav's fan? I didn't read any of the article that you didn't bother to link but really Sheed is just calling it like it is, Dirk isn't out there covering Timmeh, KG, or Pau, he's an offense guy first and foremost and gets a pass on D usually. Doesn't mean he isn't a great offensive player or anything.

how about you go get a link and then come back even then Im sure nobody really care, since Sheed has always ran his mouth and has always said it like it is since the day he stepped into the NBA. Portland, Detroit, and now Cs. There are players in the league that talk ish and they are out of control and then there are players like Sheed, Barkley, Shaq, Charles Oakley, Larry Johnson, Artest never gave a hoot and they never will but these guys CAN and WILL backup there ish. You cant change them, and they are legendary for talking ish to anyone even Baby Dirk.

But things have changed and Sheed needs to realize that his actions are effecting his team and his teammates. Its not like the old days when reffs use to put up with all the B.S and you can clearly see by the amount of tech fouls Sheed has gotten this season and the year before and the year before etc etc.

sheed is speaking the truth. everytime sheed posted dirk up he would either score, get a foul on dirk, or mavs had to send a double team. doc is stupid for not putting sheed on the block against dirk everytime down. its a huge mismatch. and anyone who actually watched the game saw that dirk did 90% of his damage when sheed wasnt on him.

You have to take Sheed with a grain of salt because he likes to talk. Of course Dirk is a great player, he's maybe one of the best shooting big men in the last 20 years. That being said, he is soft as a marshmallow on defense. He can't stop anyone.

Well, Cedric Maxwell said he's better than Bird... But then Bird never really covered anyone either.

Cornbread was just trying to get under birds skin. The two have hated each other since Maxwell asked to be traded. Bird has said in the past "Maxwell quit on the team".
