Game Thread - Wiz vs LAC

Post#1 » by hands11 » Sun Jan 24, 2010 3:53 pm

Here we go

Two hours before tip off and no game thread. This is starting to become more then a trend around here.

Guess the new kid can make his first outing after we finished our one game winning streak.

So both teams are coming off blow out loses. LAC lost by 20 at Denver. We lost to Miami by 24

AJ hasn't had two back to back crap games in years so it would be hard to think he would make it 3.

Foye vs Byron Davis - You up and comer over old scrappy grumpy guy
DS vs Ricky D - 6-7 RD over 6-5 DS but basically crap vs crap
CB vs Al Thornton AT had a tweaked ankle. Hopefully that slows him up.
AJ vs Camby - to long for AJ. This could spell trouble.
BH vs Kaman - Mano-a-mano. Kaman. The biggest bestest whitest dude in the league at center.

This is one of those games where we may need to try that SA line up again. Maybe a game we need Blatche against Camby. Wonder what Flip will do.

Foye, CB, AJ, AB, BH

I don't think they will start MM just yet. They want to bring him back slowly.
I think this is also a game where we probably need some McGee if we are going to start AB.
Only problem with starting Blatche like this is where do you go from there for bench ? You going to play Berto and McGee

It's hard to rotate through AJ, AB, BH without at least one solid bench player at PF or Center. That's why I have that on my sig list. It's really a key to what this team is missing.

Clippers' Telfair out 4-6 weeks
The team also announced the signing of guard JamesOn Curry to a 10-day contract and waived injured forward Kareem Rush.

Gordon sprained his left big toe against Chicago
Dunleavy said Gordon was "day to day," and the coach is hopeful he will play at Washington on Sunday.

Been tough the last two games But we played Dallas till the end before we just didnt have it last game. I'm looking for them to spring back. It may be hard to see in the W/L but I see some progress.

This is a must win

Well, I say that joking but it's not going to be very fun around here if we loose here and then to LAL. That would be another 4 game slide. A win here and then a loss to LAL would be easier to deal with. Specially if that is followed by a win against NJ. I can live with some 1-1 and 2-1 runs.

We just need to see what EG is going to do for a trade come the deadline. Hard to see this squad making it very far without bench help. Man this team is really missing a DSong type or better off the bench. Boykins, MM, DSong. I think they would have played well together.

You know things are bad when you're expecting a blowout-loss to the Clips.

Not here brother. While this could be a tough match up, we will have to see what Flips does. I'll be pulling for the boys.

If he lets AJ go against Camby, that could be tough. Camby is to long and to vet. AJ would have to live from the outside making it hard for us to rebound with Haywood tied up with Kaman.

Flip went big once against SA so there is at least some hope.
AB played well last game so I could see Flip giving him a shot.

If not, I could also see LAC coming out early and taking a lead. Early TO by Flip before he has to adjust.
We would be relying on Foye and CB to score early. With grumpy on Foye, he may make it tough. That leaves you CB on Ricky D.

Wow. I just knew that Blatche or Miller would start this game over DS. Flip is killing me

Not the starting line up I was looking for.

Los Angeles is 5-14 on the road and hasn't won away from the Staples Center since beating Philadelphia 112-107 in overtime Dec. 19. The Clippers, who opened a season-high eight-game trip with a 105-85 loss at Denver on Thursday, are averaging 93.1 points while giving up 110.1 during their eight-game road skid.

This is what I was afraid would happen if Flip didnt go big.

This is looking very EJ of Flip. I pulled for EJ when he first got here. I will pull for Flip for now also.

Oh, side note.

CG 1-6 in the first
AJ 2-6

How did CB get 6 shots off already.

Hey, DS is 2-4 :)

Why can Brendan shutdown the likes of Dwight Howard, but Kaman...frikkin Kaman gives him problems. This team is so damn bipolar.

Kaman is a tough player to defend. He's not the only defender who struggles against him because he has quirky post-up and face-up game. Leads centers in scoring.

This is a talented Clips team that obviously is poorly coached. Imagine if Griffin was healthy this year.

After saying that, even though this game has the sense of being meaningless the way some fo the guys are out there defending, I can sense a win after we sleptwalked through the first quarter down by 4.
