7 rings. Cavaliers become the model franchise, surpassing the Spurs..

LeBron is the first to score over 40,000 points... He wins 8 MVP's and goes down as the greatest human being of all time..

In doing so LeBron turns Delonte into a hall of fame caliber performer as well...

Thanksgiving day float runs into THE MECCA of Basketball known as Madison Square Garden... The building blows up with nobody inside it..

Oh well..

Ok I will be clearer.

A. Do you think he is a Cav next year?
If so, what moves do the Cavs make to get even better?

B. If you don't think he will be a Cav - where does he go and how does he get there? Do you let him walk via FA and get nothing? Do you trade him somehow and get the young star talent, expiring contracts, and picks?

Yes...
Trade for a PF that can score the ball.

Knicks.
The Cavs will never trade LeBron. If he leaves, he leaves.

Knicks are the only team that has a chance.. The Heat, albeit a sexy situation, will not get LeBron James.. He's not going to play in Wade's sandbox.. He's not going to play in any other star player's sandbox..

If he leaves, he's going to that New York stage.. That's the only place he will play with Wade or another star.. I just don't think it's that huge of a draw though..

He's not going to the Nets... That team is garbage (they already have 40 losses)-- I don't think LeBron is going to sing the praises of John Wall and look to count on that.. And there's no way he's going to play a minute of his career in a Nets uniform while in New Jersey.. lol..

If he's a Net, it will be after signing another 3 year contract with the Cavs, once the Nets get established in Brooklyn, and might actually have a team...

Thank you for your opinion. Any other Cav's fans have thoughts?

I agree the he will stay with the Cavs, especially since you can tell how much team chemistry there is amongst the team. Although it may just be from Lebron being the classic teammate/leader and everyone loving/following his every footsteps, I think that he is very content with the way things are going and hopefully winning a championship would allow him to stay put after the year.

If he leaves, he's either going to the Knicks or the Clips. The Knicks simply because its too much of opportunity to turn down playing in the mecca of basketball, and also because their supporting cast isn't lousy. With D Lee as a pretty decent PF, Gallo as a sole 3 point threat and not someone who is forcing up too many shots trying to create because other Knicks players cannot, if they can make a run for one other guy to help Lebron, he'll be set. The Clippers, because they have a pretty well rounded team and turning that team around from the cursed would be more than a miracle. Always defaced by the Lakers as LA's 2nd team, the Clippers really need someone like LBJ to come in an help, and with BD, Blake Griffin, Eric Gordon and Chris Kaman, that's a pretty solid core to help LBJ. Personally I even think they should change their name to the Hollywood Stars or something like that. LBJ loves Hollywood.

This question will be much easier for me to answer in 24 days. If the Cavs do not make a trade before the deadline, I'd be inclined to believe LeBron will not be a Cav next year. However, if they can trade for a legitimate all-star caliber player, I think the Cavs could win a title and keep LeBron.

If he walks, the Knicks & Nets are obvious possibilities. I think the Heat would also be a serious option. However, if I were to choose a destination for him (from the realistic choices), I'd probably choose OKC. I'd love to watch LeBron & Durant together for the next decade.

I'm sorry but I don't think I see Lebron moving to OKC with Durant. As good as that sounds, Lebron is not moving to Oklahoma City.

Have heard that the Cavs and the Suns are having premature talks about Amar'e, but as good as that sounds, I don't think he would mesh with him, Lebron and Shaq. Just like Shaq and Amar'e didn't quite work in Phoenix, I think that would hurt us. If we don't get a stretch 4 man, I still think we'll be okay this season. I think that Lebron is having a fabulous time being teammates with Shaq, and is pretty content with his supporting cast. Honestly the way he is playing this year, if he only is getting better, he will take this team all the way, and quite possibly stay.

The Thunder would be such an attractive FA destination if the city was in just about any other state.

If OKC was moving to Brooklyn and had the money the Nets did I think he'd go there if he didn't stay in Cleveland. I agree with the guy who said if the Cavs don't get a huge name in a trade by the deadline then he leaves. He isn't stupid. He knows Shaq is getting old and that Mo Williams is not enough help with a few decent players to get him where he wants to be. I think he goes to Brooklyn if the Nets get Amare or Bosh first.

Worst case scenario is that Cavs will do a S&T with wherever LeBron wants to go. After all Dan Gilbert has given him I just don't see LeBron as being the kind of guy to leave them with nothing. Besides that he could sign an extension for more money than he's likely to receive just by signing with another team since the owners appear ready to make drastic cuts in player salaries in the next CBA.

Best case scenario is the Cavs acquire Bosh in a deadline deal and LeBron signs extension to stay with Cavs.

Most likely scenario is somewhere in between

Seriously, I see absolutely no upside to the Cavs doing a sign and trade with LeBron. People love to throw that out but the Cavs have been mediocre before and frankly I'd rather take the shot by being terrible and trying to get the next big thing. There is nobody in the NBA that has the impact of LeBron so any trade that doesn't bankrupt the other team really doesn't do enough for the Cavs.

Just to throw it out there- is there any chance LeBron surprises everyone by picking up his option? Next years option is for just over 17 million, so it wouldnt cost him too much for next year alone, right? Perhaps Shaq and Z say "Hey, one more year, lets repeat (or try again)", LeBron can give us another year without locking himself in. He gets to see where the 2010 pieces fall and take one more year here to see how our team continues to unfold before deciding where to play. Then, with the other superstars settled in with their new (or old) teams, he gets the pick of the litter. AND people would be talking about LeBron 2011 even more than this year. Bonus- the Knicks have to decide wether to go hard after a guy this year or tank and suffle salary AGAIN and wait on LeBron.

Not saying its likely by any means, just a different idea than 'stay or go'.

I was worried about New Jersey at the start of the season because they had a good young core with an all star PG and a future all star center but now im fairly certain Lebron is staying right here, specially since Boston and Orlando are fading badly pretty much assuring us a place in the finals.

With the CBA up in the air in 2011, the owners reportedly looking for major concessions, and willing to lock out the players to get their way - I'd say very little chance.

Nobody is going to get paid during a lockout, but signed contracts will need to be honored once they resume play.
