What do you guys want us to do this offseason? Perhaps make a checklist of things you'd want the Hawks to do and then maybe put a sentence or two describing how they can work to make that happen.
For example,
[] Re-sign Joe Johnson
-Explain if he's worth the max contract or not
[] Draft a Big
-Perhaps someone like Gani Lawal or J. Jordan
[]Trade for so and so
-Explanation to why.
I'm just curious because the Hawks always interest me in what they'll be doing ...

It all depends on the success in the postseason, and it starts and ends with Joe staying or leaving which no one knows.
Is it to much to ask for a team that plays hard and cares? Seems so.

I didn't ask you what we were going to do, I asked you what you'd like for us to do.

If Joe Johnson leaves then he's a damn fool. The Hawks have everything going for them and for him to leave would be stupid on his part.

That will remain to be seen if he leaves. We know how Sund likes to keep the numbers down and force the outside interest to present numbers first.
Saying that, I see the NBA is looking to tighten the salary structure as they head to the 2011 bargaining table. Should be interesting to see how that impacts JJ this offseason in years.
I will say, there will be a team who will pay JJ to solidify their 2 slot for 3-4 years. But I agree, JJ does have a good thing going here and if he wants to be the highest paid teammate, this would be the place.

Re: What to do in the offseason?
Is Joe worth the max? I wouldnt quite say so. But that's not the real question. Sadly, we need to overpay to get him back here next season. This is a sports franchise, and winning (unless in a very small market) remains the objective. We let Joe walk and replace him with Crawford in the starting five and we regress. Big time. Joe might not quite be a superstar, but he's way more than simply just a scorer. We will contend this year. But (assuming we don't get the title this year), the strategy to get closer to the championship is by keeping your core, and add a few pieces. Your core grows and gets better together.
Maybe Joe wants to leave. Actually, that's my own hypothesis. But if he'd be willing to stay here for the max (or whatever contract he'd agreed on), than he should be back. He should be the priority.
Aside from that, I really couldnt care less. We won't be in a position do draft a marquee rookie, but we'll just grab the best who's on the table come our pick. The real thing will be to add a few key vets (like we did this summer with Smith). If one of our main players has to be traded, I think it'll be Marvin. Even though his stats regressed, he has shown that he's a good team player with the other 4 starters he's sharing the court with. He currently doesnt have to score to be efficient. But if we have the chance to get better by sending him away, that we shouldnt hesitate. And I'm not in love with his contract.
My two cents.

The only thing I think you guys should do in the offseason would be to find a way to move Bibby. I know he is a vet pg but with the rules in the league now he is getting torched by the smaller guards in the league. He is the only weak link in your starting 5. I don't think Teague is ready to be a starter on your team.
