Blatanly Insane Trade Idea

Post#1 » by cpfsf » Thu Jan 28, 2010 4:23 pm

Flynn for Aldrich or Jefferson for Aminu. If you don't think it's fair for one team, tell me what draft pick or player in the draft is Jefferson or Flynn worth? Btw, I'm ignoring the numbers because it depends on the draft order, but I think other teams could pull the trigger considering you've got teams like Philadelphia, Indiana, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Utah that either need a power forward or point guard.

Of course you could substitute someone else like Henry if you want and even end up with Henry/Johnson/Aldrich. Oh, and if you're just crazy, you would do both moves and watch as we have 6 players in the Rook-Soph game in 2012 (including Aldrich, Aminu, Turner, Pekovic, Rubio, and Barnes).8-)

So we're sending Flynn and Jefferson down to college? Or would that be an improvement for them?

If my name was David Kahn I'd definitely try to acquire a second high lotto pick.

Would college be the D-League version of the D-League?

I could see Flynn for Aldrich during the draft, as someone like the Pacers may need a PG and will be in the right position to draft Aldrich. I'd definitely do it if we won the lotto and got Wall, or were confident that Rubio was coming as early as possible.

Hell no on Jefferson for Aminu, unless we're getting quite a bit more with him.

I'm one who sees Aminu at SF more than PF; I think he's limited at either position offensively, but defensively he can be special at SF, but he'll get thrown around at PF.

I'm not big on getting Aldrich for Flynn for the highly racial reason that there hasn't been an elite white center since Bill Walton. So on that unscientific basis I give him Chris Kaman potential at his highest point and I think Flynn easily has that level of potential as a PG, so I wouldn't roll the dice

I think Jefferson is worth more than Aminu. I wouldn't be opposed to Jefferson to Wizards for Butler and their 1st though. That's pretty fair value imo.

I also want to note 2011 free agents when discussing this trade.
Restricted: Horford, Noah, Gasol, Oden, Hawes, Brewer, Young
Unrestricted: Perkins

You could get Brewer one of his Florida Gator college teammates like Noah or Horford to play along with.

Big Al might want his Boston buddy Perkins (would unrestricted free agent Perkins really want to stay when KG, Pierce, Allen, and Wallace are getting ready to retire at a senior citizen center). Well, I'm sure Perkins would consider Minnesota even if Big Al was gone.

Even Marc Gasol is an option. That way Rubio and Gasol can sleep on a bunk bed together and tell each other scary stories in the dark.

Hawes, Oden, and Young are just some names I threw out there.

(Super awesome FA center) Pekovic
Love
Aminu Brewer
Turner Henry Ellington
Rubio Sessions
+2011 pick

or

(Super awesome FA center) Aldrich
Love Pekovic
Aminu Brewer
Turner Ellington
Rubio Sessions
+2011 pick

I would consider dealing Flynn for a high lottery pick, but I think Al needs a lottery pick +

I'd like to give Flynn one more year before we think about trading him unless it's an offer we can't turn down. One season in the NBA for a young point guard learning a new offense and how to play defense is not enough to fairly judge his talents. Once he can exert let energy on the mental aspects of the game he'll begin to take off.

Lawson, for example, has had a much smaller adjustment coming from NC, and being 2 years older than Johnny must help a lot too. Lawson wasn't even considered a first round talent a year ago. Let's be more patient.

I actually like flynn alot, even if rubio comes over i would love flynn as a scorer off the bench, but if we land Wall and a team like indy that needs a pg and not a big man would trade aldrich for flynn i would do that in a second.

wall, brewer, love, aldrich is a really nice core, with al either in there or as trade bait, and maybe gay or johnson as a free agent, i mean damn,if we added Wall and aldrich to our young guys now we have to look good for free agents, and that is not even counting rubio and pek,

if we dont get wall i dont know, i think i still do it, i believe rubio is coming after next year, and sessions,turner,brewer/gay?,love,aldrich looks really nice too. then after that we have rubio,turner,gay/brew?,love,aldrich, all young talent, all potentially very good. and again,al is in there ahead of aldrich or traded

I agree that if you can get one of the top 6-7 prospects in this draft you probably have to trade him, however, I think that's very unlikely.

At some point the young talent has to either transfer into wins, or be combined with more expierenced players to make a run. I wouldn't want to have too much talent and not enough minutes. Right now I think we need at least one more wing(Gay, Iggy, Turner?), a defensive center(Aldrich, Thabeet, Alabi?), and if we could get Wall then obviously we would have to listen to offers for Flynn or Sessions. I think Wall and Rubio could co-exist height wise, but they both need the ball in their hands, and neither plays off the ball that well...yet anyway. Plus Al needs his touches so I would think if we landed Wall we may listen to offers for him, and Rubio, possibly Al if its for a center who fits better into our scheme.

Heh. Luckily we're nowhere near having that problem.

lol true, but it could change pretty quick. Like we should pry move one of gomes, brewer, ellington if we were to get Gay, Turner. How many minutes could go around between?
SG-Brewer, Ellington, Turner? Maybe even Iggy?
Sf-Gomes, Gay?
That's all assuming we could get a free agent, but I would like to see Brewer still here, and I like Ellington. So I think we should still ditch Gomes to a contender. Hopefully Brewer can bulk up to guard SFs.

Do you want to know who also hated this trade proposal? Hitler. Now you can either follow your leader or join my revolution.

What picks or prospects would you trade for Flynn or Jefferson? I think Johnson could be a stretch even for Big Al. So what if we did this, Big Al for the 4th pick in the draft. GS is probably the only Sacramento team to consider this (Washington and Philly sure won't).

At best we get Johnson, at worst we get Aminu. It's kind of a worthless discussion because we don't know the draft order, but I just want to get an idea of how you all value this.
