1st round pick trades

Since the mavs traded 2 1sts for Jason Kidd, when can they trade a 1st again. I suspect it is 2011 pick after the 2010 draft, but I do not know for sure. Can the good posters of the cba board

Dallas owes its 2010 first round pick to New Jersey. Until the 2010 draft is held, the earliest first-rounder they can include in a trade is their 2012 pick. After the 2010 draft is held, they can include their 2011 pick in a trade. This has to do with the rule that prohibits a team from trading away two consecutive future first round picks.

You could get another 2010 first in a trade, and then you can deal your 2011 pick. You don't need your own team's first specifically, just A first.
