Golden State could add a draft pick to Boston as well.

Boston's salaries would be rolling at about 91 million and change. About 4 million less than this year.
New York would have enough room to sign pretty much whoever they wanted.
Golden State gets financial savings without giving up really anything they hold dear IMO.

Would Boston want to be the team that opened the door for New York to get two plus All-Stars?

Does New York give up Gallinari for major cap space?

Does this keep Boston a championship contender this year, while building toward the future?

Assuming all player options are exercised and our draft pick is retained, it's actually about a $100m payroll for next season with a 15-man roster.

Lux tax hit would be at least $30m for $130m total.

For a team not even as good as we have now.

Awesome.

I'll pass. Galinari doesn't impress me with his 6+ three point attempts a game and Wright is pretty much a bust.

Plus we take on two terrible contracts in Curry and Jeffries. Magettee is a bad contract too but the guy can ball.

Also, the Knicks and W's wouldn't do this trade because they lose cheap talent for expiring crap (except Ray_.

Knicks fans would never give up Gallinari for anyone.
