I wanted to see how everyone else would like to see from now till tip off of the 10-11 Season go down? (Trade deadline, Off-Season Signings, Drafts, Off-Season Trades)
Trade Deadline
I want to see McGrady, Cook, and Scola moved. Bosh, Lebron, and Wade are not coming here, so why not make our moves now. We lack an aggressive slasher that can finish on a regular basis from the wings. Brooks and Lowry can finish while driving but Ariza,Budinger, and Taylor are not at that level. We lack a guy who can beat the boards down consistantly and be a legitimate post presence. Landry is a subpar rebounder but a very nice threat in the paint. Scola fumbles the ball entirely to much in the lane and puts up bad shots.
Lets look at the options we have heard about lately.
Igoudala- He has an all around game, he can drive the ball efficiently, he can pop up with a jumper with a hand in his face, and he plays solid defense. He has never had the supporting cast to know if he can be that leader/co-leader of a championship contending team. In my opinion he is the best option for us. Dalambert is expensive but he would be used alot more efficiently in Adelamans, Princeton style offense. He is by no means a defensive liability and he can be a good back up for Yao.
Amare- He has had the chance to prove that he can take his team all the way with a supporting cast members who have included, Nash, Shaq, Marion, J-Rich, and he has done little to show he is the guy to carry a team. Pairing him with Yao would only clog the middle more and give Yao less room to work. Amare is not a good defender and in my opinion is not worth max money. It took me a while to come around to this but I see it now
Butler- he has also not been given the chance to show what he is capable of because of a torn locker room with such cancers as Arenas and Critt in it.
I think Butler could also be a legitimate option.
Trades:
Houston Out:
McGrady
Scola
Cook
Andersen
Houston In:
Igoudala
Dalambert
T. Thomas
Philadelphia Out:
Igoudala
Dalambert
Lou Williams
Philadelphia In:
McGrady
Salmons
Andersen
Chicago Out:
Salmons
Thomas
Chicago In:
Scola
Williams
Then I want to see us draft a wing to replace Battier when he is gone.
Maybe Avery Bradley from Texas. Great scorer, but a little undersized.
Then Re-sign Lowry (4m/year) with part of the MLE, use the rest on draft picks, and sign a vetran for the vets minimun the serve as depth and a locker room presence.
Leading up to next season, your way.

Would Lowry take 4 million a year?

Well... his jaw is too big and his mouth is kind of crooked.

That is just it. Scola is over 30 and he is going to fetch more than the Rockets are going to be able to pay him. Its time to let Landry turn it on as a starter, granted Landry needs to bulk it up in the offseason and work on his rebounding but after this contract he is going to want to get paid. We need to see what his capable of as a starter

Yeah, but you said the issue with him was "Scola fumbles the ball entirely to much in the lane and puts up bad shots.", which is pretty well false. Can't disagree with the 30 thing, I've mentioned it may motivate him to be traded myself, though I have a suspicion that he can be at roughly the level he's at for 3-5 more years - which coincidentally is the length of a contract. It's probably best to keep him unless he can become the crux of a very sweet deal (and no, I don't mean Iguodala, I mean one that hasn't been brought up here).

Re: Leading up to next season, your way.
Back just a couple of years....when we had Yao and Tmac and Juwan howard or whoever else could play the 4....we were getting killed at that position. Everyone was f'in crying about how we need to get a good 4 etc, etc. Now we have 2 good, serviceable players at that spot and you guys still aren't happy. IMO the 1 and the 4 spots are our ONLY strengths at this time. Even when Yao comes back our 5 spot will be a strength and weakness depending on the matchup. Scolandry gives Adelman A LOT of flexibility when it comes to matchups before and during the game.
I don't mine letting Tmacs contract expire and making a strong run at Joe johnson to replace the threat at that position. Even if Joe doesn't drive like a "tmac" he demands respect at that position and can open up the inside for Yao when he comes back (something tmac used to do when the two were at their "prime"). That's better than AI who's jumper is shoddy at best. Shooters never lose their shots, but injuries/age can derail an athletic player very easily.
