You know what I'm jumping on this bandwagon too. I can't take Yi in the starting lineup anymore if we keep him he needs to come off the bench as a backup 4/5. Ty is like 23 or 24 and can run the floor, play better decent D and stick a midrange J.
Now what will the Bulls ask for CDR maybe and the Dallas pick (is that too much considering they know they will lose him). I'd rather keep the pick and give them CDR/expirings.

Re: I want Tyrus Thomas!
I have a trade proposal in the trade/transactions forum
Hayes/Boone/Dallas 1st. for Thomas
It's a low risk high reward type move, I think it's worth a shot. He's rescricted so we will have some leverage with resigning him. Move Yi to the bench as the backup 4/5.

Re: I want Tyrus Thomas!
Am I the only Net still preaching patience? I know it is painful to even watch the Nets these days, but we don't need to spend youth assets to s short-run mini-fix.
Tyrus Thomas has a qualifying offer (QO) for $6mil this summer. I'm not interested in exercising it and losing that amount of capspace, so we would be trading away assets for a 2-month rental.
If they want to trade with the Nets, I would offer Yi and CDR for Tyrus and their 2010 1st. They can probably get better value return elsewhere from teams that actually want to keep Thomas beyond April, and I'm OK with that.

Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

I agree that I'm not giving up any long-term assets for Tyrus but I don't think the QO is that big of a deal in that you can always pull it from the table and open up that cap space again if you're in a position to sign said big name free agent.
I really don't see any way Tyrus would accept the QO as it is...

I know he has a lot of potential, but am I the only one who questions whether Tyrus is even worth his QO of more than $6.25 million?

Tyrus' Attitude will make him look like Sean Williams 2.0, and eventually he would just never get minutes
