MIL get David Lee/Knicks dump Jeffries.

Post#1 » by FutureKnicksGM » Wed Feb 17, 2010 3:37 am

Trade ID #5472048

Knicks waive Bender/Assuming Lee accepts trade(supposedly was o.k playing in MIL when a R.F.A, also knows the knicks will probably renounce him in order to sign 2 max F.A's, meaning any rights he loses by being traded, he will probably lose anyway this offseason. Also gets a $1 million bonus if he makes playoffs, which bucks should after this trade)

MIL IN: Lee, Duhon, Jeffries, Landry

Bogut/Jeffries/Gadzuric
Lee/Ersan
LRMM/Stackhouse
Delfino/Bell/Meeks
Jennings/Duhon

Bucks get an allstar PF for taking on an extra year of Jeffries. Bucks will be in the playoffs for sure. Duhon would be an o.k back up point. Jeffries while overpaid, is still a good defender and will be an expiring next year. Yes they could lose Lee next year, but they can offer him a starting deal of $9.6 million(if bucks make playoffs) using the non-bird exception, which is competitive IMO.

NY IN: Ridnour, Thomas, Warrick, Alexander, Elson, MIL 2010 second

Knicks use Lee to dump Jeffries, which is better IMO than giving up Hill and picks .

Zero chance the Bucks do this. No one is going to take on Effries' and his trade kicker for a rental of Lee.

I know a lot of Bucks fans do this, even would make it a first coming from our end, but they are delusional and think we could keep Lee.

we are not going into the luxary tax, just glancing at the players involved i'm pretty sure after this deal were in the lux.

I squandered an asset? Then Hammond taught me well.

Would that starting salary for Lee push Mil into the 2010-2011 luxury tax?? I'm almost certain that it would - so they'd definately just be renting Lee for this year.

I think MIL are at $50mill in cap space. So they would add around around 17 mill more with Lee & Jeffries, plus a couple mill for there draft picks, they would probably be around $69 mill, which is probably just under.

But this does take MIL over the lux tax this year. Damn. I really don't want this HOU deal to take place.

Milwaukee would probably be interested in a Jeffries/Hill/Pick deal for expirings. I don't see a Lee deal working since Jeffries and Lee together would put us over the Lux Tax next year.
Trade S. Jackson soon. NJ seems like a nice place for him.
