DMAC traded!

Wiz trade Dmac for a future 2nd round pick and cash. Good deal considering Dmac didn't have a future here likely.

Any indication about the pick?

I think Singleton gives the Wizards what they were hoping for from DMac.

Really. Interesting.

Guess roster spots were tight and they wanted to clear just a little more cap

Rather have Singleton than DMac, so I approve of the move.

Eh, sorry to see Dom go - but yeah, he wasn't going to get PT.

It'd be nice if the "future" 2nd rounder is 2010's - as Sac is suck.

Looks like it's a 2011 2nd round pick plus some cash for McGuire.

DMac has no future in the NBA. He just isn't an NBA-caliber player. Nice guy, hard worker...sure. But he's Ruffin-esque on offense and his defense isn't good enough to give him a rotation spot on any roster.

I'm good with this trade.

Even 2011 is ok. 2013 or later is basically just freeing a roster spot.

This gets the Wiz under the luxury tax line, right?

A very Pritchard-esque move. GMEG is on a roll!

Goodbye DMAC - we will miss your hustle plays. I am glad we got James Singleton now. Hopefully Al Thorton can do some good things for us. Now the SF spot won't be so crowded.....

I was wondering why he didn't play, I never wanted to keep him despite his ernest efforts. I'll take Singleton for that role thank you very much.

Players drafted after DMAC:

Marc Gasol
Aaron Gray
Ramon Sessions
DJ Strawberry (Who I thought would have been more versatile and possible 3rd PG)

WHOA. Score. Not sure how the Rockets/Knicks didn't end up getting that pick. No matter how good we are next year I'll be excited to watch some young guys. It'd be a breath of fresh air that's for sure.

That's a great trade. I have no freaking idea why the Kings would do such a deal. If they wanted McGuire so bad, they could have signed him for peanuts in the off-season. Maybe the Wiz gave the Kings a ton of cash?

Plus, the Kings' 2nd rounder is like a late 1st rounder, considering how bad they are this season (4th worst record in the league).

You could argue the Wizards got less for Haywood than they did for McGuire. Overall I think the Wizards got decent value in their trades.

nice move - Singleton replaces what DMac gave us and possibly
more. And Al Thornton would have made it that much more
crowded at the 3.

I think DMac is a solid role player but he wasn't going anywhere.
This takes him back closer to his college (home?). So he's probably
not minding it too much either.

I'm sure that 2nd rounder is heavily protected.

The Wizards likely paid the rest of McGuire's salary via cash, saving them ~$6M by getting under the luxury tax. Sacramento has to give up something, so they send a 2nd rounder protected to, oh, pick 55, or something.

This does mean that the Wizards do not HAVE TO buyout Ilgauskas.
